Ideas of a "set-up" are crap. Mark has been telling everyone around him for weeks what was going on. That just happened to be the first time he was around fans. He did as he has always done, he was honest and to the point. For the record he could care less that the story was told. He never tried to hide it. It might have been easier for people to hold off till a statement was made by the band. But since Mark and Scott had not spoken in a couple weeks it could have dragged out forever. As to the phone call Diane got... who knows? Brian was at Mark's house the other night listening to the songs. Trust me folks...he's in. They have puchased a practice place to begin rehearsing. Things can always change, but as of last night he is definately in and is very excited about it. This is not from a phone call. I was there.

Well thank you Jez for posting. this is all just a bizarre and unprofessional way to do things IMO.

I agree with creedlvr and a slap in the face to Stapp. You are one of the few ppl that seem to be thinking about him.

and tremonti.net, well I doubt it Marks brother would admit to a set up but it was all to convenient. Marks a pretty smart guy and a really decent person from all we've seen but this its all too bizarre.

It's almost impossible to imagine never going to antoher Creed concert and even more impossible to imagin Mark, Flip and Brian on a stage without Stapp but with another singer.

NO ONE will have the voice of Scott.

Just my opinion.

ABSOLUTELY! They have to be kidding themselves! I really hope that they don't think they will find a better frontman than Scott.

I do hope that some extended time off will reunite them ... but in the meantime, I can assure you that I will not be purchasing this "Stappless Creed's" new album.

While i am very excited about this new solo cd, if they get a new singer i might be dissapointed. Now that i think about it what if i dont like this new guys voice? that would suck. STAPP's an awesome singer but so is mark.

so hopefully he sings it all himself, or stapp will come to his senses and kiss and make up with the rest of the band.

I hope they can patch things up. But to say Stapp should come to his senses ... we really don't know who's to blame here.

It could be that Mark wants to go heavy metal and Scott doesn't. I would agree with Stapp ... "if it's not broken ... don't fix it!"

All this still doesn't explain Wind-Ups letter about the new Creed albums for next year. Is this some kind of contract agreement that the guys have to wrap up before they move on to other things? Did they agree to do some sort of Greatest Hits records for Wind-Up?

Ok, and my last point is this. If this band with Brian, Mark, and Flip is going to happen then instrumentally you can expect it to be grand. BUT, if they don't find a guy who can sing and fit the musical style they want to accomplish then they won't be able to pull it off! I've heard good bands instrumentally before that had singers that couldn't sing worth a lick, and it just won't carry!

im sure if they did agree, Wind-up would do anything to make sure they keep their word, think of all the money from sales wind-up will get.

So how sure are we that this is going to happen with the new band? Are we even above the 80th percentile or is this thing a 99%; almost certain done deal?
