Here is one of my favorite poems
Footprints
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the foot- prints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of foot- prints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you, and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you." Author Unknown

I know Goddess I think this has to be one of the greatest poems around! It really helped me in a very hard time. I had a 3 rd grade classmate die in a car accident in 96 See I moved away from that town in the middle of my 3rd grade year and I lost touch with most of the kids I went to school with. But when I heard about his accident in the paper I recognized him from my class. I had a difficult time dealing with it but I became friends with his sister and hung out at there house and got to know his family. In a letter that his Dad sent me it had this poem in it, so everytime I read this poem I think of him His name was Ryan Beek and he was only 16 when he died

I'm so sorry to hear about your classmate, Julie. That's really sad.
The Footprints poem is one I read several years ago and has helped me get through some hard times as well. I think it's my all time favorite. I just find it very comforting.
