I heard alot of conflicting stories on it some say it don't and some say yes, it depends on where you get it the more meat in the area the less it hurts i guess

It wasn't comfortable, but it wasn't something that I would cry over. A lot of tattoo's I had seen in the small of their back didn't show very well and I wanted mine seen so I got it a tad bit higher. It is right above my jeans. I got a moon inside of a sun in all black and the main part being filled in was the middle and it ended up right on my back bone, now that hurt. It hurt pretty bad. It's not that bad though because you are laying down when you get one on your back, so that makes it a little easier. I am not gonna say it's a peice of cake, but it isn't that bad. You are usually so stoked that you are getting one that you don't care.

LOL, you're so right, Carrie...Mine wasn't on a bone, so it really wasn't much pain at all. As you said, more discomfort than anything else. I didn't even flinch when the guy started. And it's only tender for a few days afterward. Felt like a bad sunburn is all.

Yeah, I didn't flinch. I was almost too scared to move because I didn't want anything messed up because I moved. I think the worst part for me was the starting and stopping. It seemed like if they had kept going I could have gotten a lot more used to it.

Yeah, that and the pressure he kept on my arm to keep it still. That was more uncomfortable than the needle, LOL. All in all, though an extremely tolerable experience and well worth it. The stoke factor is huge, for sure .

Creed chick, I think the red, white and blue one sounds bitchen! I would get that one if I were you! Where are you getting it at?? I've always wanted one on my ankle, those are supposed to hurt the most!!! I such a chicken! I'm afraid I will regret it! Some women I see with tatts it looks bitchen, then some make them look hard and raunchy. I just want a lil butterfly or something small like that.

For sure, Dan...It really isn't that bad. And like Carrie said, you are so stoked to be getting one that it doesn't bother you that much.

X suggested a few months ago that I put it on my ass. He got an earful so I don't think there will be too many more brave souls that suggest such things.

I'm thinking of getting mine a little above the ankle like creedchick said or high up on my arm. I haven't made up my mind for sure but I'm leaning more towards above the ankle.
