Look at it this way...
If the church denied communion to every American Catholic that uses contraceptive, had pre-marital sex, went to a fertility clinic, supports abortion rights, or the death penalty, or even just voted for a political candidate that did... there would be a lot more people sleeping in on Sunday morning. Another thing that they don't take into consideration is the fact that just because a women is taking contraceptives doesn't always mean that they are having sex. I am taking them because I have a tumor in my uterus and my periods are horrible if I'm not on them and I have never had sex . I also know of other women besides me who are taking them for other female related problems and they weren't having sex either.
