ORIGINAL CREED LINE-UP OF SCOTT STAPP, MARK TREMONTI, SCOTT PHILLIPS AND BRIAN MARSHALL PLAN SUMMER TOUR AND NEW ALBUM

Orlando, FL --- Creed, one of the most successful rock bands of the past decade, has announced all four of the original band members are back together for a summer tour and new album. Since their formation, Creed has sold close to thirty-five million albums and millions of concert tickets.

The songwriting team of Stapp and Tremonti are considered one of the most prolific in rock history. Their collaborations delivered numerous chart-topping records that are a testament to the enormity and success of Creed. The band was the first act to have seven consecutive number one rock radio singles, four of which came off of the debut album. Their third album, Weathered, tied The Beatles Anthology, for the most consecutive weeks at Number One on Billboard’s Top 200 chart (eight weeks since the beginning of the SoundScan era (1991).

The band’s debut, My Own Prison, was released on August 26, 1997 and has sold over six million copies in the U.S. The follow-up, Human Clay, was distributed on September 28, 1999 and certified Diamond for sales in excess of 11 million copies. The band’s last studio album, Weathered, was released on November 20, 2001 and sold six million plus. In November 2004, Creed Greatest Hits was released, and has sold two million copies. The band was voted Favorite Group in 2003 on the People’s Choice Awards and won numerous American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards and others including the Grammy Award for best Rock Song in 2001 for “With Arms Wide Open.”

On reuniting, guitarist Mark Tremonti stated, “We're all very excited to reconnect with our fans and each other after six long years." Drummer Scott Phillips added, “Our career as Creed came to a very abrupt and unforeseen ending. After reflecting on some of the greatest personal and professional moments of our lives, we've come to realize that we are still very capable of continuing that career and our friendship on a grander scale than ever before." Bassist Brian Marshall continues, “This is a development we are all happy about. It has been a long time since the four of us have taken the stage together, and without hesitation or reservation this is something all of us are in to. The anticipation to get back out there is electrifying. Singer Scott Stapp concluded, “Its amazing how life can change and bring you full circle. Time gave us all a chance to reflect, grow and gain a deeper appreciation of our friendships, artistic chemistry, passion for music, and sincere love for our fans! Im not gonna lie...I am by far a AB fan moreso than a Creed fan. But I cant help being excited that Creed is getting back together!

I mean really...Creed is what got me into rock music essentially. I started playing guitar because of Mark...while he was in Creed. Creed was a big part of my growing up and now that they are back...AND are coming out with a new album? I've gotta say I'm loving it.

Michael Tremonti said on AB's forum that AB is not breaking up, they will record the new AB record when they get back from the Creed tour, and Myles is totally ok with all of this. Not really anything to be upset about then!

I'm definitely gonna be at the Denver show. Anyone else?

Like I said in the other thread, if anyone had told me this at the same time last year, I would have died from laughing! I am still in shock.

I'm guessing that:
1) The new album was simply part of the reunion deal.
2) AB is doing nothing more than taking a break.
3) The money from this reunion will help AB in the future.

I could be wrong but these were the first things that came to mind.

I think thats exactly why they are doing it. Financing their own albums keeps creative control with them...and it never hurts to have more money to put into your business

I actually think it would be kinda cool like every 5-7 years Creed gets together and does another album and a summer tour...I could handle that

I wouldnt be so sure...Remember Micheal Tremonti has been the fan liasson dating back to the creed days...hes always been involved...Do you think in his right mind he would say that...Mark would loose so many fans...What he is ultimately intending to do is keep his Bride fans...save face...and eventually bring them over to creed...I think in a way Tremonti realized when he and stap got back together that creed could still be something great, new, edgy and every thing it started out to be...I like alter bridge...It was great to see what mark and company could do when they stepped out of Stapps shadow but I think that ship has sailed and now that they are all grown up and had time away they can go back to the top...Anyways cant wait to see them in ct ill b there!!

The news today




Many of you are wondering how this Creed reunion tour will affect the future of Alter Bridge. No worries, it won’t. I can assure you that as soon as they finish in October we will move forward.



Contrary to false statements that might lead you to believe otherwise, Alter Bridge continues to be paramount to the four of us.



The guys have my full support. It’s a very complex situation to say the least. It had to be done.



I appreciate the fact that so many of you are concerned about our future. With that said, everything is going to be all right. Alter Bridge’s third record is well on it’s way. The guys will embark on their reunion tour, I will make my record, and then we will carry on.
