Entertainment Weekly Review...
"one can appreciate Scott Stapp's solo debut The Great Divide for what it is: solidly built post-grunge for chest beating, fist-pumping, and beery sing-alongs. Stapp's new backup band is tighter than Creed was, ripping through thundering prog-metal with slick virtuosity (''Reach Out'' and ''Fight Song'')..."

LMMFAO...can I see a link please? That cannot be real.
..."thundering prog-metal"????? ..."slick virtuosity"????? OMFG, thanks for the laugh, though. That's a good one. And Goneblind tighter than Creed? Um, no, just no... *still on the floor laughing*....

Re: Entertainment Weekly Review...
This is the whole article:
It takes superhuman levels of concentration, but by ignoring the lyrics, one can appreciate Scott Stapp's solo debut The Great Divide for what it is: solidly built post-grunge for chest beating, fist-pumping, and beery sing-alongs. Stapp's new backup band is tighter than Creed was, ripping through thundering prog-metal with slick virtuosity (''Reach Out'' and ''Fight Song''). And Stapp certainly knows how to craft a ham-handed stadium anthem (the title tune). That said, is there a more self-important rocker out there? His Hallmark card clichés and dull portentousness weigh down every track. Grade: C+ |

Re: Entertainment Weekly Review...
Uh, "prog-metal"? That album is about as close to "prog-metal" as Pantera is to "adult contemporary". It would be extremely difficult to take anything this reviewer has to say seriously...

^^ My thoughts exactly. That same stupid reviewer gave the Lindsy Lohan CD a B-.

I wonder if that person actually listened to the CD.

Re: Entertainment Weekly Review...
Could you please take the Stapp bashing elsewhere?

Can you please back this up with a "reasonable argument" b/c I don't think "musical preference" will hold water around here. Ya see, that is the same kinda posts I would leave on the AB page and I get threatened w/ banishment. Mmmmmm......do I smell HYPOCRISY...??

I found this link, which offers a rather lengthy definition of progressive rock...
