Only Human

You think that you might know me now
‘Cause you knew me before
You think you know the answers
Want to “even” up the score

Ya think that I am lying
With every breath I take
Well, if ya really knew me…
You’d see it’s a mistake

The only ones I answer to
Are me, myself and I…
Once you understand this
You might like me, if you try

Then again, I’m not asking
For any special favors
I’m just another human being…
I’ll never be your savior

Look past what you think you knew
To all that just might be
Don’t hold on to stale gossip
And jaded memories…

Ya see, I'm only human
No different than you are
Every little dig you make
Leaves another scar...
