Yes, I play violin! :P Sorry i didn't notice this thread earlier... I took lessons for six years but then i quit to concentrate on school. I still like to play, but i don't get to very often cos i don't have the time. I was first violinist in my primary school :lol: he he and then i joined the Secondary Schools Symphony Orchestra and we did lots of concerts and stuff. I wish i could play more and i REALLY REALLY wish i could join another orchestra, i've been thinking i might do that once i finish school.

Aimee, it is a hard instrument to play, and you never stop learning, there's just so much stuff! But it's heaps fun once you get the hang of it, and being able to read music, you've got an advantage. Is that treble clef you know? If so, it should be heaps easier.

PS definetely stay away from the hickey country stuff, but give jazz a try as well, it's not as well known with violin but it's still pretty good, something different from classical all the time.
