Losing Faith In Humanity
 

On my way to work this morning I turned on the radio in the car, and heard the station that was on, promoting a new contest that they were having.

When this station plays the sound of bombs flying over Iraq, the first person to call in wins a CD.

Yesterday, outside a school, the SUV in front of me had a bumper sticker that read, "If you can read this, you're within range", and a lic. plate frame that read, "If your too close for bombs, get a gun". This was outside a children's school, waiting to pick up kids.

I posted on another thread on this site, a plea to protect the children of our world, one of the replies I recieved said, "Better their children, than ours".

Does anyone that calls themselves a Christian, or a Humanitarian
honestly think these these things are OK?

When the world makes games out of death and killing, and humor consists of threatening someone with shooting, on a car sticker, perhaps the world has lost sight of what darkness and evil are all about.

Ya. I agree Whitebird:( In our world we have so much freedom that we tend to forget others that are struggling and don't have the rights and freedoms that we do. I think that putting offensive things like that will only get them into trouble;)

Whitebird, it says in the bible that the world will call good evil and evil good, people will become lovers of self and money. Pray that they somehow see the light and God has mercy on them. They don't even realize how deceived (when all we have left is deceptive, so disconnected, what is the truth now?) they are. Even Jesus when dying on the cross asked the Father to "forgive them, they know not what they do." God is the only Truth in this life, He will never deceive us. PEACE....

Lechium, if you don't like what I have to say, you can always put me on your ignore list, as I have done to you. The only reason I responded to your post was because I just knew you'd have something to say to counteract what I was trying to do, which was to try to lift someone up and encourage them. In this world full of negativity, I'm trying to be a light to someone and spread some positive feelings; if you don't like it, go spread your negative garbage somewhere else please..... I totally agree w/ u whitebird!!!! As I said in another topic, bad things happen, and we should learn from it and prevent any future mistakes, while trying 2 contribute 2 the well being of our environment as much as we can!! It may sound weird and almost impossible, but we have to 'Keep The Faith'!! Unfortunately, there is a # of ppl out there that r, well, weird and I really don't know how 2 call them, but they r always creating 'dark' humor out of current misfortunate events, and living a nice life, without ever thinking about others that suffer!

I agree Ivan! I have definitely learned from my mistakes from the past. I am still haunted by somethings though. I kinda went through a stage in my life when I turned away from God. I still believed in Him and still prayed to Him but I didn't act on it for a few years. I look back on it now and I wonder why I did that? It was a very dark time in my life thats for sure:( Was not worth it at all:angel:

Thanks for letting me vent on this thread. I usually try to keep things very positive on my posts, but I see so many changes going on in our lives. I have always felt the the world has acheived a balance, but somehow that balance is shifting. I have always loved and valued the differences in people, and have
great respect for the freedom that we have in our country to express ourselves, but I find things suddenly becoming lopsided. People are becoming more selfish, and anything goes if it gets you what you want. Sometimes at the expense of others, sometimes at the expense of our environment.

I honestly believe that for our world, and humanity to survive, we need to reachieve that balance.

P.S. Lechium I honestly don't know who Ned Flanders is.

I've had those same feelings Whitebird. I was thinking the same things a couple weeks ago actually. How our world is going down hill lately. Most people anymore are out only to please themselves. They took God out of everything and now thre is more crime, and hatred toward others. I'm glad that there are still people in the world that are positive, its helps me stay positive. I had a time where I just let the negativity of this world and what goes on here let me down but if I keep letting it get to me then I could be down and depressed forever and that would be no fun:( :angel: ;)

thats why kids have parents to tell them the difference between whats right and wrong. its not society's responsibility to teach your kids, it your responsibility. if you just shield them from everything, they will not know what do you when they encounter a situation. i have an NRA sticker on my car, and ques what, NO ONE cares!

look, the world is full of assholes (me included) just deal with, and get over it.
