So, explain the appeal of Australian Rules Football. I tried to watch it once, but it didn't grab me.

So, explain the appeal of Australian Rules Football. I tried to watch it once, but it didn't grab me.

i think its similar to american football in that people outside that country don't like the game whatsoever...you have to grow up with it. its great because there is lots of physical contact, all body types can play it (unlike a lot of american sports) and the best part guys can jump on eachother's heads and take a mark or catch. also the games are high scoring with 90 points or so an average score whilst soccer 5 goals is heaps.....

Footy going downhill . . . so many problems to list. Players think twice before tackling cos of umpires, cant punch the footy from over the shoulder anymore when spoiling, becoming less and less physical, teams resort to chipping short and sideways (alas my team North Melbourne are one of the greatest offenders of this), FLOODING!. Gone are the days when players would kick long to contests and great players like Carey and Ablett would take pack marks. Shits me!
