I have seen a couple of their videos. They are pretty good but they were a little boring the first time I heard them. I'm considering buying their cd.

At least it has to do with the band and what they are about/like......Do the members of snow patrol wear parkas and like hot cocoa?

I've been a huge Snow Patrol fan for quite some time... and I've had the pleasure of seeing them live as well. A very fine Scottish band.

Chase: any other awesome bands you're hiding out there, saving to yourself?
only reason i discovered 'em was thru work... in the electronics dept @ target (a mid-level dept store for those of you who've never heard of it), we've got tv's playing all the time, w/ the target video network or something like that... and they play 30 sec clips of the songs... so after having worked in toys and housewares a few nites (both of which, in my store, are next to electronics) and having heard "Run" numerous times, i finally walked over there to see what band it was... downloaded some songs a day or two later, then bought "Final Straw" the same night as Creed's "GH"

Actually... Target's little "Breakout Music" section always has good new bands. But if you like Snow Patrol I would recommend (you may have heard of some of these bands): Keane, Muse, Stereophonics, Starsailor... they're good mellow British bands. There are also older bands like Oasis and The Verve who are very awesome. I also recommend Silverchair's "Diorama" CD... which I find to be amazing. It's a couple years old... but it's an awesome CD. Much more similar to bands I just mentioned.
Oh yeah... Ryan Adam's "Rock N Roll" is a terrific CD as well. There's quite a few popular indie sounding bands out there right now... but these are the ones who I think are underrated.
Download:
"Somewhere Only We Know"- Keane
"Butterflies and Hurricanes"- Muse
"Maybe Tomorrow"- Stereophonics
"Silence is Easy"- Starsailor
"Shallow"- Ryan Adams
"Across the Night"-Silverchair

yeah, I've seen Keane's vid on there, too... i've already got Keane, Muse, Ryan Adams & Silverchair... looks like Starsailor & Stereophonics are next on the 'menu' tho lol

Awesome... try listening to the band called "Gomez" as well... download the song called "Silence." They're slightly Oasis-like.

Prog-rock kicks ass! I prefer Rush, Pink Floyd, Yes, and Liquid Tension Experiment (a modern Prog-Rock group, w/ John Petrucci).

I have the Snow Patrol cd. It is ok. They are on the same lines as Coldplay. But I like Coldplay a lot better.
