I dunno if there has ever been a thread like this On CF. If if hasn't, it's Long Overdue.

Today there have been a lot of storms in my Area. While watching The Rain Fall, I put on some Alice In Chains.
I'm still listening to them. Down in a Hole Unplugged is playing right now.

This Thread is For the Appreciation and Memory of Layne Stanley.
Tell Stories, Remember The Man, Remember the Singer, Share Pictures, whatever you want.
Peace Out and R.I.P. Layne...

down in a hole losin' control

i'd like to fly
but my wings have been so denied"

Wow, very cool, Matt. It's good to see the Alice fans come out of the woodwork :D...

That version of DIAH is one of the most sad, sweet, soulful performances by Layne Staley ever.

Do you have the DVD? If not, you should. It'll make you cry, thinking of what could have been had he recovered. The man had a beautiful, beautiful voice. That Unplugged is just about my favorite of the Unpluggeds I have seen/heard. It's a great performance by a great group.

layne was such a talent and he and jerry were such a great team. very dark lyrics but some songs gave hope such as mad season's "river of deceit". its sad to think what could have being and listening to his songs it almost seems he knew his fate.

Yeah, even Jerry's Degradation Trip Vols. 1 & 2 seemed to foreshadow the eventual outcome. I think he was trying to let go of Layne and Alice even back then because he knew it was pretty hopeless for Layne :(

yeah its a really sad situation everyone knew what was happening but no-one wanted to stop it, including layne i guess who didn't have the motivation. :(

I'm sure they wanted to, but just couldn't. It's a tough situation. In any event, the man had a big heart and a big talent. I'm so glad they shared what they did with us.
