On This Thread, only good news about you are accepted...

I´ll begin!
My classes finished today! Monday I´ll check my grades! But I passed in all subjects, for sure! My grades average improved this semester! I´m still a litlle aprehensive with Macroeconomics grade, but I think I made it! :)

My good news of the week is that finally my sister knows what my little nephew's learning disability is, which means that she can finally figure out a course of action to get him up to speed. He has struggled in school since kindergarten and each teacher has passed the buck repeatedly, despite my sister's insistence that he needed extra help. She now has a diagnosis in hand and can get the school system to meet his needs. She pays taxes and he deserves an education just as every other student does. Just because some kids learn differently from others is no reason to let him twist in the wind. He's a bright kid; his brain just doesn't work in the way students are taught conventionally.

And thanks, Marcos, for starting this thread. Gets me thinking in a positive way!

That is awesome Dogstar... glad to hear things are going better!!!

My good new today.. well I saved someone's life at work! I found a serious med error a doctor wrote, the dose would have probably killed the patient! I am sure he is glad to, seeing he is only 35 years old( the patient)!!!:D

I remember another one:
now I can play OLB on guitar! I´m so happy! now I can play 2 creed songs! but I´m not sure if I´m right... there are so many tabs... my next step is Pity For a Dime and figure the strumming for DSD!

That's great, Marcos. When you get it all figured out, you'll have to record it somehow and let us have a listen! Two of my nephews are learning to play the guitar (one electric, one acoustic). I can't wait until they can play some songs for their auntie. They know how passionate I am about music.

OLB is pretty easy to be honest...it was the 1st song I learnt by myself, I got the Creedfeed tab... it´s hard on the beggining, I didn´t know where to place the fingers, but then I managed it...
but the fingerpicking are all on regular chords... it took me plenty of time to get the speed too...

Some more good news: My friend's father, who has been in the hospital the last few days because of severe high blood pressure, is doing better. They still don't know what is causing it, but they have figured out how much medication to give him so that it doesn't keep spiking. He might be getting out the hospital tomorrow, pending more tests.

Since my husband and I bought the tickets to the Chicago show and he can't go, my sister is going and returning the favor of the free ticket by paying for plane tickets so we don't have to drive 10 hours. We only have to fly 2 hrs. and 43 min.

i know, i am so glad. i have more good news too. i applied for a christmas job at a music store today, and i got the job, plus it's not even temporary, they want me on full time and they are still giving me all of the time off that i need. chicago, creedfest, etc. i am so excited.

plus, i found the DSD single there that i have been looking for and it was only 4.56 with tax.

i am just bubbling.

My 50 year old cousin was diagnosed with colon cancer this week - they were worried it had spread to the liver, but the results for the liver were negative. HURRAY - one hurdle he is through, now on to radiation and then surgery. Prayers are appreciated for 'Cousin Mike'.

HOORAY!!!!!! I'm almost finished. I did my (Dogstar's) Snickerdoodles, some peanut butter cookies, Butter cookies and chocolate chips today. Tomorrow will be the last of my baking for the season. Yay.:)
