Do any of you guys have any pets??? tell me about them, what they are like and their habits, and all that stuff...i unfortunatly only have one pet, his name is Charlie, and he is a budgie....we can't have anything like a dog or a cat because i am allergic to their hair, that really pisses me off. But Charlie is a great bird, very friendly, but he likes to peck hard.:( He can talk...and he has this toy of tweetie bird, that he just adores, it's very sweet!;)
what about ur pets???:)

I used to have dogs and/or cats everywhere that I have lived. However, the place that I live now doesn't allow pets. However, I am definately a cat person.

2 Cats. Sunni, all black with green eyes. Gentle funloving personality, lap-cat who has been with me for 13 years.

Pinhead, who fits her name. Grey with green eyes, very pretty, very stupid. Afraid of my kids and everyone else but my husband and I. Is my best friend when the kids go to sleep because she's been hiding and affection-starved all day.

Jake - a 6 year old yellow lab mix rescued from the animal shelter at 3 months old. He was found dodging cars on a busy road. He's the love of my life. He is an old soul with very kind eyes. He puts up with me wanting to snuggle with him all the time. He's a total girl-dog (been raised by women). He loves to lick, and when he licks your palms he is saying, "take care of me". He aslo loves to paw you when he needs attention. When he paws, he is saying, "be my friend please". He loves the swimming at the beach and fetching his dummy. He is extremely intelligent and knows at least 100 English words and phrases. His only vice is chasing cats, and he's a little bossy with other animals but very submissive with humans. He's has taught me about unconditional love and devotion, non-judgemental-ness and appreciating the simple things. I have no idea what I'd do without him.

We had an old black German Shephard that was exactly like that. She was a friendly old dog with the kindest temperament I've ever seen. People could not believe she was a Shephard because of the way she was, very gentle, very loving, always affectionate. We used to bring her out on Halloween with us because no one would ever try to mess with a group of small children with a vicious looking big black German Shephard. What they didn't know was for the price of a milk bone, she'd take them home and show them where the valuables were.

I have a cat, Darryl, who has been with me for 14 years. She's a lap cat loves who attention and playing with toys. She paws me gently every morning for her first meal and loves to snuggle. All my friends always want to take her home with them.

My Sunni is a lap cat when it suits her, but she is such a nice cat that I put up with it. The Pinhead is only a lap cat when I'm trying to post on the bb and the kids are asleep. She thinks that I'm sitting there to please her and be her couch.

Wow, she has lived alot of years so far. Must be well taken care of. Isn't it just a shame that their time on earth is so damn short? I'll never understand it. :(

Of course, they are solitary creatures (except lions) so they are not a good role model for us - but sure great companions!

One cat "Halley". Orange tabby with beautiful green eyes. Seventeen now, rather fragile and a finicky eater. I got her from the SPCA - rough kittenhood and it shows, she is very shy and a little neurotic. Totally deaf now, maybe a little Alzheimers too. Defn' lap cat. - sweet, loving, gentle Halley !

Yes, ALOT!

A2S- You really should think about getting a dog from the animal shelter. My Jake is a lab mix from the shelter, and if you've read my post about him on this thread, you know that he is absolutely wonderful. He's mostly lab, but not a pure bred. My sister's pure breed lab has hip dysplasia and arthritis (she's only 3), both common aliments in pure bred dogs. She has had surgery and is on 2 different medications. And they paid $600 for her! Jake was free other than the $25 or so adoption fee that also paid for his neutering.

There are thousands of dogs (and cats) put to sleep EVERYDAY in the US, why not save one's life instead of supporting breeders and puppy mills just out to make money.

If you say you are getting the dog for someone else, they may not allow it b/c they don't know anything about they other person. Take her there with you, but make sure she knows all the responsibility and cost that it entails, and that she knows that it is a commitment that last years. So many people don't realize it, they just think of the animal as a commodity that they can dispose of when they lose interest, that's one of the things that the shelters try to protect the animals from.

I got it in a real nice vase with some real nice jeweled stones at the bottom and some real nice silk plants sticking out of the vase. lol He's cute... as cute as a fich can get I guess. Now maybe I can soon warm my landlord up enough to let me get a cat... I miss having a cat.

I have a parakeet named Pier. He is a light blue color with white. He has been eating a lot lately so I think we might have to cut back on his birdseed, I don't want to have an obese bird.:P He doesn't talk though. I think he might be paranoid that we will be listening to every word he says or something. The only thing he does do is whistle along to this on song on the radio, I can't remember the name of it though. I had a turtle once but it died becasue it caught a cold. :(

Hi, I haven't seen this thread before. I share my life with two dogs, Molly who is approx. 12 years old, and a beagle sized mixed breed, and Nikki a 2 year old black lab. Both dogs are loving and sweet, sassy and silly.

Nikki is right now pushing my hands up from the keyboard, because she wants something. I'll have to go now, or I will get no peace.

This thread is old! I was reading it early and Dogstar was happy when she had gotten 500 posts!? lol

Anyway, I have three cats , Xander, Giles and Butch(who stays outside) and we recently got a puppy on August. Goes by the name T-Bone. If anybody here has kids a watches Clifford the Big Red Dog you know where I got his name from. I love my cats the most. The kids really wanted the puppy and I had a hard time saying no because he was so cute when he was little but now he's bigger and a pain in my ASS!!!!

lol thanks Marlsy ;)

I really want a pet like a ferret, or a hampster or something like that. I'm sure I would be able to take care of it, and it would be really fun. If only my mum and dad would let me, lol.

Oh well one day when I move out I can have as many pets as I like :)

I just found this thread.
Let me tell you, I have 1 cat (the spawn of satan). His name is Cheshire. He is a black and white short hair. He's almost 3 and he is lucky he made it this long. He is evil to the core but somehow I still manage to love him. Go figure

Yeah same with mine. But it's good, they are in Pet Heaven happy! :)

I really love animals and care for them so much, I have always been like that, very caring for pets, but it's just my allergies are so unfair, because it stops me from having animals that I really love  :(
