I haven't heard of it either. I may see if I can find something out at work and see if we can listen to it.

Ok first of all, how bizarre is that????? And secondly, I'm totally confused. That album was released in 1990? By a band named Creed? A Christian band? How was it that OUR Creed wasn't sued by THAT Creed for using the name?

*walks out of thread scratching head.

That's very strange, you would of thought that we would of seen them mentioned somewhere before. It's even more surprising that they have never taken any legal action.

Interesting! ;)

www.creed.de (seems like a German Band)

There are some tiny pics of the band in it's history. The vocalist from the early years Jessy Baron seems to be singin' in another band right now called GFK.(Government's Fury Kills)

Maybe, this is why everyone labeled Creed a christian band when they first came out!!??? That is sooo weird. I'm beginning to wonder why there wasn't a lawsuit way back in the day. I guess maybe because they are two different genre of music.

I'm leaving with Teri, also scratching my head!!! :dunno:

I'll scratch yours and you scratch mine, Kris. ;)

I thought that very same thing about the confusion over the 'Christian band' label.

I saw a tape by them on eBay a day or two ago. Wasn't sure who it was. I haven't listened to them, but I'd be willing to bet that our Creed is better.

anyone notice that the name font on the CD cover is very similar (save for, perhaps, the R which, in Mason--the "Creed font"--has a long leg)?

sounds like '80s metal w/ post-grunge vocals.

Their first album shows as coming out in 1986...

Also, my guess is that since the album was released in Germany, they cannot sue an American band... laws in the US do not apply to other countries, thus they really have no say unless there is a national law regarding music.

:wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: isn't there a such thing as like international trade regulations on copyright and all?

I really have no idea... that is just my best guess. I mean, there are different laws in the US and Germany, so who's will you follow? Also, the other Creed is not a huge nationally signed band... so 2 different levels of stardom might have something to do with it. I have seen huge and local bands with the same name and there is no problem.

Well, that's anyway not the Creed we know and love!

I think the reason there was no law-suit was because I noticed that the last thing they did was in 1995...two years before our Creed really came into the picture,I might be wrong but it makes sense.
