Scott on Craig Kilborn

Well, I just finished watching the show and Scott said they weren't over, just taking a hiatus. He said they talked about doing that after 10 years. Have they really been together that long? Doesn't seem possible!! And boy, he has gained some weight, but it only looks like it in his face, but he's still the hottie he's always been!! ;) I'm really looking forward to hearing his solo stuff. I was worried about it being rappy or some shit like that, but if it is how he said it is going to be (Zepplin/Doors sound) it ought to ROCK!! Keep it rockin' Scotty!! :rockon:

its not 10 years yet though I thought they formed in 1995 I guess close enough. But you would think if things were really good they would just keep on going? Well at least we have it direct from Scott that they haven't broken up and are merley in hiatus! thanks for the info!

Just popping in after my fun filled day!
WOW...
What can I say? We had a really great time and I just want to say something to clear things up.
What you see on the camera...on tv......it's just that. ON TV. He is NOT overweight. When Craig Kilborn walked out to beign with, I said out loud, 'OMG, I cannot believe how skinny this guy actually is!!" I'm telling you, those tv cameras add a good twenty-five pound to you! When Scott came out,he simply looked so amazing and healthy..just beautiful. So for anyone who has been worrying about him....you can stop :)
We were in the front row along with a few other people that I have met before at concerts. The show is not on here yet;, but Scott did about a ten minute segment, and I don't really think that they cut anything at all out, so you're getting the entire interview.
All I can really say is that it was sooooo good to see him again....I'm taking some extra special memories back home with me tomorrow :D:D:D:D:D

Ok, we're off to watch the Toledo boot and I'll be watching the show when it comes on in about half an hour....

Scott comes out (to much excitement of many screaming girls, gives Kilborn an autographed black Fender Strat guitar with white pickguard, they BS'd around and he read a quote from Scott and he commented about how sometimes he sees boobies when on stage and it causes him to forget the words. Talked for about 3 seconds about his project, and was asked of course, if Creed was a Christian band. They shook hands, to end the interview and went to break.

What the hell?! I didn't get to hear a lot of it because I was at a friend's house with a bunch of other people playing games and stuff, and I could hardly hear the TV even though I had it turned almost all of the way up. If someone could post more about what they talked about, it would be great.

Something noteworthy -- Scott was wearing an old Creed T-Shirt. I think that means there are no hard feelings about anything. And if he did say what hide mentioned that they are indeed on a hiatus, all I can say is :bounce: :D

Scott did look good. Scott said that January 15 had been 10 years for them. It's ironic because if you do go back and listen to old interviews, that is something that they always said - they would do it for 10 years. Craig asked him more about Creed then about his solo album. He said FLip is playing golf and then said "Mark is producing and working on a solo album, I think" is exactly what he said. Craig asked him about his recent bar fight and Scott answered with a story about the man that was arrested for impersonating Mark - that it must have been the same thing (that someone was impersonating him)- that it wasn't him in the bar fight (he was definetly joking).

Jez, thanks for the update on Scott. Did Scott come over to you guys at all? You're right, the camera does add weight. But, he still isn't as fit as he used to be. Have you ever seen him photographed in the past the way he has looked over the last year? Go back and look at old TV footage of him and you will see a very slim Scott Stapp. And also notice how now, he is always wearing a jacket, he's trying to cover up.

Did anybody else notice how his left hand was shaking?

It was great to see him. After seeing him on Celebrity Poker, where he didn't look good, it was reassuring to see him and hear him talk. Maybe the real Scott Stapp is coming back to us :wiggle:

Well, considering that 95% of the time that I have seen Scott Stapp was on TV and he has never looked like this in the past, I am not going to say that the camera added weight to him- he had rolls on his tummy, he was using his jacket to cover them up, and he couldn't even sit up straight ! I am sorry I am not bashing him, just saying he is not in shape.

I also thought Craig asked all the right questions - either it was scripted or Craig and his people are on their game. The first question he asked out of the gate was if Creed was breaking up - he asked about the bar fight - tried to clear up any remnants of the very old Scott is gay rumor (in the boobie story) etc. I thought it was a very good interview.

I also got the feeling and this is totally suspicion - that Scott was trying to use Creed fame while he can to establish his name as a solo artist - I couldn't believe he pretended not to know what Mark was up to ( he thinks he is doing a solo album?) I was SO HAPPY that he definitely said it was not Rap. I am still gettting excited about it I think it will be something fresh and loveable that he is creating! *fingers crossed*

Overall it was the best interview I have seen in so long and I am just so happy to keep seeing him - I hope he continues to do interviews and shows and get back in the public eye. AND no obnoxious tongue sticking out! Yeah! I love him so much!

The band has no "rights" to Wind-up. Even though Creed made Wind-up, they have no part with the record label when it comes to the actual business... they are simply a band who signed a contract with them.

He is not bloated from the medication anymore. He has gained weight. When Creed was on tour, Scott was taking steriods, which made him appear bloated. A while ago I asked my personal trainer about steriods because my doctor wanted me to take them for my asthma. She said that taking steriods make you appear bloated, unless you are lifting weights. Lifting weights and taking steriods is what makes you look more muscular. Scott had been taking the steriods for throat problems.

I thought he looked good to. Yet again, I always thought he was a hottie :stappchic

Jez, thanks so much for giving us your take on things - it must have been such a thrill to be right there with him!! Some of the stuff Craig asked him was so lame - will anyone ever let the Christian band thing go????? And he had me laughing with his answers to the boob question and the bar fight too. I've heard he came over to a group of people in the audience after the interview was over and was really gracious and nice, etc. That rocks! Now I wish I would have taped his appearance on The Best Damn Sports Show Period; I taped this onto the tape with Celeb. Poker.... would have made a good Stapp "collection of appearances" kind of thing....oh well.......peace :)

Jerry Cantrell had hopes they would get back together and work, and he said that publicly over and over, and even Layne Staley had hopes, but it still never came to fruition. We'll just have to see what develops. I think much of it boils down to contractual obligations, which might be why they don't want to say definitively that they are over, if indeed they are. Alice (or I should say Sony Columbia) is coming out with yet ANOTHER AIC compilation, an AIC Essentials CD, which will have just about everything I already have. They will have as many compilations as studio releases :rolleyes:.
