I thought I was in love, once. It was several years ago :) That didn't last very long though

RMadd

I used to have a girlfriend. Thought I loved her at the time, but it wasn't. Now I gots me another lady-friend (not a girlfriend... won't ask her to be such until I see her next, at the earliest), but I don't want to commit to "love" too early. Usually, it's a matter or infatuation. American bad a$, check back w/ us in a few months, let us know how your relationship's doing then. How old are you anyway, if you don't mind my asking.

i m 16. yes it sounds werid, that's what everyone i talk to says. that's why i said, "when we are older." she knows what i am thinking, and she is thinking the same thing.

Nope Neither... yeah i'm a loser... lol... workin on my guitar playing right now... so i dunno how good a BF i would be... it seems like having a GF requires a lot of work and commitment... if you want it down right... i guess i just need to find that special girl...
plus i'm a shy guy... so i guess that doesn't help... :)

PaulMcCoygirl
02-05-2004, 04:19 PM
Well I'm kind of shy too, but slowly breaking out of it. It's really hard for me to just go up and talk to a really hot guy. If my friends ever told me to do it, they would literally have to drag me over their in order for me to talk to him. I've never had a BF, came close, but didn't quite make it. I don't think that I've ever really been in love either, just infatuated.

Ya me to Alisha :) I've only had one b/f and it really was hardly even that  Just someone I gave my address to when I was at work one day cleaning at a hotel. I never thought he would even write to me but he did. I was 18 and stupid and he was the first guy that ever said I was pretty, every other guy like guys at school were pricks to me, even the guys at my church at the time were jerks! :mad1:

Wow, that sounds kind of like me. Except I gave my phone number to him. It didn't do any good because he only called me once to wish me a happy birthday. I thought it was thoughful of him, but I would have liked him to call me more. I called him a few times, but then after I noticed I was basically doing all the talking, I gave up. He also said that I was pretty, just not to my face. He told my friends instead. All the guys at my school are pricks too. They date the freshman and sophomore girls because they know they will give them what they want. I'm still praying that one of these days someone will come along for me.

Hey, American Bad A$, not to be a skeptical asshole or rain on your parade or anything... what you've got going sounds great. But just let us know in a few months where y'all stand. I was where you were, same age and all. Obviously, that didn't work out. We're still friends, and she's going out w/ one of my best friends from high school (if high school marching band is a family, then i guess incest was very common) and it's good stuff.

...and she just broke up with me on hour ago.

i seriously am about to die. Tuesday, we were talking about how long this relationship was gonna last, and tonight, she said, "I don't think we should be together." She said she prayed about it, and didn't think it was the best thing. She was big about it, and said it wasn't anything i did, and i guess i believe her. i told her i love her, and that i would always be there for her, and that i hoped she change her mind.

oh well.

RMadd
02-05-2004, 11:42 PM
Sorry to hear that, man. Just don't chase after her too much, you know, don't keep trying to get back together everytime you'd break up. I made that mistake. Quite painful, indeed. It might seem like the end of the world, but if there's one cliche that's true, it's this: There are always more fish in the sea. And don't get exasperated by not finding the right one right away. You're only 16. Time-a-plenty to find someone. On a side note, I don't by her "it's nothing you did" line. It's something girls say, whether they admit to it or not. If you're interested in finding out the true reason (I'm not giving you advice to go either way), it's possible there's something a little more. Once again, speaking from personal experience, she may've been overwhelmed by it all. Was this her first serious relationship? How about yours? Hey man, good luck and God bless. And, in the words of Benji Madden, "Hold on, if you feel like letting go. Hold on, it gets better than you know."

Mulletman

I was talking to someone yesterday and she couldnt believe that I was happy being single and not in a hurry to find someone! It's strange that people think that everyones life should revolve around being with someone or they just aint happy. I wanna be content within myself first. Is that strange?

I'm 15 and I wish I had never have fallen in love in the first place. :( I went through alot of heartbreak and pain, but amongst all of that there was joy and happiness, but that didn't last very long. :crying: Love sucks as I have said before, I had my hopes and dreams crushed and that's the worst feeling in the world. sorry to be so blunt, but i don't think it's exactly possible for 15 year olds to be in love. it's more abstract and higher-level than people perceive. as i have said, esp at the beginning of relationships and with younger couples, love is usually confused w/ infatuation (i learned this in my psych class, so it's not something i'm making up).
