You sure? I thought it was only somewhere around 6 mil (according to Billboard, it's 6x Platinum, meaning it's sold over 6 million copies in the US; as HC is, I believe, 12x Platinum according to Billboard, I would have to guess that this list is US-only?... meaning, MOP wouldn't have the 10 million or so it's probably sold overall but, instead, roughly 6 million).

Weathered is 6x but like a year ago creed announced My Own Prison at 10 million, i thought that was U.S. but it could have been for the whole world

I thought it was Weathered 8x and MOP 6x, but I could be wrong. The 10x for MOP might be worldwide.

I did some research and you have it correct Dogstar.

and Weathered would have sold many more worldwide compared to MOP, Creed really didn't break through on a massive scale until Higher hit the airwaves!

I've seen that list before, its not a good sign of the public taste but at least some of those albums were good!

Another prblem with this list, Hootie and the blowfish went 16x platinum with cracked rear view, which would place it at the top of the list. But maybe they dont count all of the artists, who knows?

Yes, Jango, but remember, SoundScan only goes as far back as 1991 when it was introduced. It is not a list of the top ten of all time.

And Iced... when did Cracked Rear View come out? Was it before '91? I don't know.

24. Backstreet Boys - Same
...
33. Backstreet Boys - Millennium
34. Britney Spears - ...baby one more time
35. Dixie Chicks - Wide Open Spaces
36. Matchbox Twenty - Yourself or someone like you

All beating out Pearl Jam, Nirvana, your beloved Creed, Bob Marley, Elvis, the Pumpkins, The Doors, Simon and Garfunkel, U2, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, the Chili Peppers, Billy Joel, Elton John, Clapton, Stones, etc etc etc

Music sales meaning nothing in terms of actual quality.

jango is spot on sales mean nothing in view of quality but it is sad that such inferior music sells so well. I also agree with Xterminator in that Matchbox 20 are okay, they put on a good live show.

matchbox twenty is awesome! And, yes, they are amazing live! Seen 'em twice, disappointed on neither occasion. Rob can write sing amazingly well; Kyle Cook (lead guitar) is pretty damn good; all the other dudes are good too.

that is a ten but what i'm sure must annoy our friend Jango and does surprise me is that "Ten" hasen't made Diamond yet even though it still sells like hotcakes. That would sell more in a week then Riot Act!

Matchbox 20 are plesant enough, I have seem them live and they put on a good show but they don't rock the house. Basically 90% of fans at any one show are casual fans, they are not the type of band that has much of a cult following. As soon as the hits dry up, which is bound to happen their fan base will just about disappear.

Perhaps you've missed my last few posts. I don't care AT ALL about record sales. Ten isn't even my favorite PJ album... Quite the contrary, my favorite has garnered the least money of them all, and I'm perfectly content with that.

cool fair enough i wasen't thinking that you were a Ten-Vs fan to start with labels but doesn't it fire you up a little that all these far inferior groups and even a group as good as Creed (you obviously don't concur) can sell as many albums as PJ in only 3 attempts? I'm quite sure that both bands have sold about 30 albums apeice and I think that includes the hundreds of offical boots floating around in PJ land.
