Here is a poem by a shy poet:
September Tree
A cool september morning I walked down the street, watching season change before my eyes. The wind stripping trees of the last evidence of summer. Up high in the treetop just one lonely leaf, not ready to give up, fighting not to leave the roots it had called home for all these months. I watched it struggle and finally letting go to be swept away by a fresh breath of air, riding the waves of unknown freedom. As it slowly danced to the ground it touched here and there, remaining a while then flying away again. It graced my head, my shoulder, my hand, just to vanish a while from my view again. When it came back it landed just perfectly, right above my heart. Where it lives to this day and forever will be.
