Tomorrow I will be seeing Godsmack in concert. Adema will be opening for them. Should be a good concert although I'm not sure about Adema. Their first cd wasn't that great.

They are playing tonight here in my town, Godsmack and Adema, but I am not going. Where do you live SmilinSkullRing?

I'm going to see Godsmack on the 7th! I've got balcony seats for the show :) This will be the second time I'm seeing them this year! First time I saw them was back in May outdoors at an ampitheater - great show! I'm looking forward to seeing them indoors now.

I would like to check them out. I know there are tickets still available, but I don't want bad seats so I will just catch them next time around. Have fun you guys!

farmgirl, you got GA tix or balcony tix?

Hey Steve, I have GA tix. I didn't know about the pre-sale so I couldn't get the balcony ones. I have since signed up for their mailing list for next time.

hotforscott,
I live in Poplar Bluff, MO which is about five hours from Little Rock, AR. My friend and I went, and we had GA tix. The concert was probably the best I've been to after all the Bruce Springsteen concerts I've been to of course. :D

A fight broke out in the pit during Godsmack's set! These guys were trying to pound on each other and it looked like a bunch of people were going to start falling from that--me included. Luckily, they got that under control.

A band by the name of Silvertide is opening for Adema and Godsmack now through November. They are quite good! Lot of energy and a lot of fun. As a matter of fact I met the whole band after the show! Walt, the lead singer, is very nice. After we left the building my friend and I couldn't get back in to buy the three track EP that Silvertide has. The security wouldn't even take the money and go get the cd. Luckily, we saw Walt and he came over when we knocked on the doors. I told him we just want his cd and that the security won't even let us get it. He told us to hang on and ran over to get the cd and then talked to us. I shook his hand though afterwards when we met the rest of the band, and Walt again, we got to give him a hug. He even climbed the fence to talk to us and some other fans.

I'll tell everyone more later! :)

What kinda music is Silvertide? Like Adema and Godsmack?

Silvertide are hard rock and not really the same as Godsmack and Adema. They have a great sound to them in my opinion. You can hear their influences of bands from the '70s but understand that they are still trying to sound fresh and new for today. Pretty cool.

Oh, here you go.....the review.

hot_4_Sully(friend) and myself left our town to head for the concert around 11 A.M. the day of the concert for a five hour trip. Once we got there we headed to the hotel and then left for the arena within 30 minutes of arriving at the hotel. We got to the arena at 6:30 P.M. and got in line. We met two people and talked to them about Godsmack and other bands we like, and they were pretty cool. We get inside and didn't see the wristband line, so that messed up our arrival time onto the pit floor. We got our wristbands and got down onto the floor and were on the right side of the stage on the railing at times and in the second row--basically the same thing.

Okay so the show starts but it's not Adema. A band by the name of Silvertide comes on stage. They are joining Godsmack until the end of November and just got off of touring with Alice Cooper not too long ago. Let me tell you this band was a little sloppy, but they did just have almost a week off and were just starting out on a new tour. Overall I was thoroughly impressed with Silvertide. Great energy by the band, especially the lead singer Walt, and they had great music. They aren't trying to sound like other bands today. They have a nice mixed sound of the present and the past. Very fresh addition to the music scene in my opinion. Walt came running down to the front of the stage and it was cool to high five him. Check out this band if you can! :)

Next up was Adema. With this band I had no expectations hardly. Any that I did have were bad because I haven't heard that many great things about them in concert and to be honest I had previously only heard two songs by them that I liked. Adema actually wasn't that bad. They got the crowd into it pretty good and when they did play the two songs I knew it was really good. I actually might get their newest cd and give them another chance. I've heard better bands, but like I said with the low expectations I had they showed me they are better than that at least.

Now the band you have all been waiting to read about: Godsmack! The show opened with "Vampires" like usual and Sully and the band come onstage. Of course the crowd is really coming alive now. I thought Godsmack was really good live. The pit was into it especially those who could move. Being up front it got more difficult for some of us to jump because we just couldn't get off the ground by being so smashed into each other. A fight broke out probably three songs into Godsmack's set. It was pretty much in the center of the pit, and it looked like it was going to move on to our side of the pit. I believe only the idiots fighting got hurt which is a good thing. Sully mentioned that we were a lot better than the Louisiana crowd which was awesome! Though he could say that everywhere for all I know. When the band came back onstage they started playing "Sweet Home Alabama" which I thought was hilarious but cool. Then Sully said something like "this isn't Alabama, we are Arkansas. This is Sweet Home Arkan-fuckin'-sas(sauce)!". Then they go into "Walk" by Pantera. That was pretty sweet! :P

After the concert I had went outside to find hot_4_Sully because she went outside. After we met up again the security wouldn't let me back inside for anything! They wouldn't even take my five bucks and get me the Silvertide EP. Well, we got lucky and saw Walt, Silvertide's lead singer, and hot_4_Sully knocked on the door. As soon as I saw him coming over I got to the door with her. I told him that the security won't even let us inside to get his cd. He told us to hang on a second and he'll be right back. He goes running over to the merchandise stand and brings the cd back for us. How sweet is that? Very nice down-to-earth guy he is. As a matter of fact the whole band is. We told him that the band was very good, and I asked to shake his hand.

After this we went around back and the band members of Silvertide were back there. I got all of the band members to sign the cover art of their cd and to sign my ticket. A few signed my arm too. The same goes for hot_4_Sully. They were all great! We talked about when the full-length cd will be released, their tour with Alice Cooper, and a bunch of other things. Finally Walt came out back and he climbed the fence to hang with us and the other fans of course. I made sure to get a hug from him this time just because I could. Hey, he's very cute, nice, and a great singer, so why not? :D

Thanx, I will make sure to get to the concert on time then. I'm always up for finding new music! I was so excited yesterday. I'm on the Godsmack Street Team and they sent me any e-mail last weekend and said they had tickets for 3 shows and one happened to be in St Paul, and I ACTUALLY WON!!! WOO HOO. Not that I didn't already have tickets, but now I can bring my best friend with me and my daughter can bring a friend of hers. Ended up get tickets 2 rows closer than I was, the closer the better!! ;) Tomorrow night starts off a month of concerts and I CAN'T WAIT!! Starting with Godsmack, then Korn w/ Limp Dickless (YUK!!!) Staind w/Sevendust!! Deftones and ending with A Perfect Circle in December (I also won tickets on the radio for APC!! I never win anything!! lol) I'm sooo psyched to finally get to rock out again, it's been too long (since Sept) I need LIVE music!!

Sounds like a bunch of great concerts coming up for you! I'm not a big fan of Korn, but they have a few good songs. I know what you mean about Limp Bizkit! I can't stand them--well, mainly Fred Durst!

I'm sure you'll like Silvertide. Great music and lots of energy!

I wasn't a Korn fan until late last year, now I love them!! I saw them at Ozz Fest this last summer and they were sooo kick booty live, I'm really looking forward to seeing them again. Besides them, the one after tonite that I'm sooo REALLY looking forward to is A Perfect Circle, I'm a TOTAL TOOL freak!! I think Maynard is one of the MOST talented artists out there. I've see APC two times in the last couple of months and they were phenominal!! I sooo can't wait for Tool to tour again, they're the one band that I TOTALLY love and haven't see live yet!! :crying:

I know what you mean about not seeing your favorite or one of your favorite bands live. That's why I'm so happy that I've seen Bruce Springsteen five times since April!! :D Now, I still want to see as many of his shows as possible when he starts touring again, but I also want to see Creed, Pearl Jam, The Who(if that's ever possible), etc.

APC seem they would be pretty cool live.

Let us know how the concert goes!

Holy hell - my ears are ringin' !!!

Just got home from Godsmack. I went late so I didn't catch Silvertide :( I caught the last 4 songs from Adema. Boy do they suck ass (sorry to any Adema fans). All the singer did was scream. I HATE BANDS WHO JUST SCREAM!!!

Godsmack was awsome yet again. They didn't play Serenity, which is their current single on the radio. I thought that was weird. They did play just about every other single though. I think the setlist was just about the same as it was when they played Milwaukee in May for Lazerfest. They opened with this 2 or 3 minute guitar solo thingy which was pretty awsome. Towards the end of the set Sully jumps up on a second drumset which was wheeled out. They did the dueling drums for a good 10 minutes. That was very cool. Godsmack should release a song just with the dueling drums.

Only thing that sucked was the venue. The music was just way too loud. There was a lot of distortion which made the vocals somewhat hard to hear at times from where I was sitting up in the balcony. There was a little echo as well. The Eagles Ballroom isn't the best place for a concert (although when Creed played there it sounded great - maybe you have to be on the rail to get a good sound?) Oh well, time to go rest my ears ;)

I forgot to add - you know how before a band takes the stage, they usually have some CD playing over the sound system. Well before Godsmack took the stage they were playing Virgos' "The Path of Least Resistance" over the PA :D

Sounds like you had a great time! Pretty much what happened at my Godsmack concert though the sound was pretty good up front in the pit--well most of the time.

I thought Adema was alright, but I had such low expectations they had to slightly impress me I believe. ;)

Too bad you missed Silvertide. You would probably really like them.

luvscott4ever
11-09-2003, 01:01 PM
They once again ROCKED!! It's almost 3 days later and I'm still in awe and want to see them again!!! We got to the venue about 20 minutes after the show was suppose to start and Adema was on stage  I don't think Silvertide played, unless they only played 5 minutes, which I doubt, never did hear what happened to them. Steve, Godsmack did an interview with our radio station and my daughter said that they weren't going to do Serenity, being as it was kinda slow and they wanted to keep the crowd going, guess that's why they didn't do it!! But they are sooo incredibly great live! This was my fourth show this year and they were just as great as the other shows!! Godsmack ROCKS my world!! :D
Looking forward to the next time!!

I believe Silvertide may come on stage fifteen minutes before show time. At least I think I remember a guy saying something about the show "starting at 7:45". That may be it.
