This one I wrote tonight...Happy reading :D.

See her heart it sears within
He never could see past her skin
Inside her head the fires roared
But he never tried to open that door

Beneath her hands a passion yearned
He never tried to take his turn
Under foot the garden seeded
A little weeding was all it needed

Oh, the times they could have had
The days of love, the good the bad
But he refused to make his mark
Instead, he let the light go dark

Now it’s late, the sun has set
The curtains pulled, the safest bet
Behind her eyes the visions come
Of choking hands and deeds undone

See his heart it bleeds within
Ain’t no way he’ll ever win
Cold and blue his hands are now
He wishes he had tried somehow

Oh, the times they could have had
The days of love, the good the bad
But he refused to make his mark
Instead, he let the light go dark
