View Full Version : If there was nothing after this life...

Some researcher (I don't remember his name) surveyed a few hundred people who believed themselves to be firm believing Christians, and asked them if they would continue living a Christ-like life and be the way they are if there was no heaven or afterlife at all. You get burried in the ground and turn into dust.

The results (again, I don't remember exactly what they were) were surprising. As it turns out, something that brings happiness to so many people, would be dropped in an instant if what they believe in if it was proved wrong.

What I ask you, is... what is worse, a lie that brings a smile, or a truth that brings a tear?

Good one Teri. I rather be lied to that way I can enjoy what life I have and not have to worry about the after one!

Truth for me. I would rather know, shed my tear, and then move on than be lied to. For me, there is nothing worse than finding out I've been deceived. It completely erodes what trust was there. I happen to believe there is something after. There are a couple of things that have happened over the years that could not have been coincidence (at least in my mind, LOL).

No matter what, I will always atleast want to be the child of God. It is buried in my soul, I have been decieved much. This situation would just be another classic example of how hard things can be.

depends what it is......right now im having a lot of rough days and id rather have the truth told to me instead of getting lied to and finding out a few days that its not the truth

but your question on afterlife.....im really not sure what would be better
