Hey, everyone post here the bands they've seen live and whether or not they were good and why you felt they were good/bad!

Me so Far:

Shinedown: can't give an accurate description, the mix they had was horrible so all you heard was the guitar which was really simple stuff, didn't get into them much.

Stereofuse: They have some good songs besides everything, they had this one song (allison i think it was) that was really good.

Creed: Needless to say, the people sitting next to me had to restrain me from headbanging the whole show cuz i was blocking their view, and my dad told me to shut up cuz i was singing so loud he couldn't hear the band lol.

LMAO, Rune...too funny. Yeah, I have hard time NOT headbanging to Creed, LOL...My list would be too long to get into detail, but I'll give a few good ones:

Creed -- In my top five...just full of energy and great vibes, and the music's pretty darn good, too.

Jerry Cantrell -- The former Alice In Chains guitarisit is bad-ass live. No-nonsense kind of show. Very little talking, lots of guitar playing and kick-ass tunes...A good mix of his solo stuff and Alice...Major, major fan here...

Pearl Jam... OMG...incredible. You don't even have to be on the rail to feel the love and the vibe from this band. Excellent mix of stuff and they vary their set lists from show to show, which makes you want to buy every bootleg you can your hands on. Vedder rocks! Plus, they surprise with covers. And they usually play 2+ hours. Friggin' AWESOME.

Les Claypool -- Amazing bass player who tours with his Frog Brigade, whose members sometimes change. Very trippy show, but very cool. Zappa-esque in his approach, lots of free-form jamming. You just can't stop grooving to this guy.

Springsteen --- Just saw him for the first time Monday...Two words: Fucking incredible! At 53, this guy has fricken boundless energy. Played for 3+ hours with no breaks, save for a funky intro of all the band members. I would pay anything to see this guy. The young guns could learn a thing or two from The Boss. He believes in giving people their money's worth, plus, they all looked like they had a hell of a time up there...Clarence Clemons is the coolest dude!

Foo Fighters -- Dave Grohl has acquitted himself quite nicely as a front man since his days in Nirvana. The man knows how to rock and have a good time. Plus, his bandmates rock! Taylor Hawkins on drums is a maniac on the kit, plus, he's wicked hot! Sorry, couldn't help myself. This is one show where you will be tired and sore from headbanging, dancing and singing. Rockin' good time.

Audioslave -- Chris Cornell still has it. That man can friggin' sing! Plus, Tom Morello is wild on guitar...Rage + Cornell is an awesome combo in my book. Their songs are natural crowd-pleasers and they soooooo get people going with tunes like Set It Off and Show Me How To Live...See them!

Metallica -- Caught my first show of James & Co. at Veterans Stadium in Philly. They played a lot of old stuff, which friggin' ROCKED. The newly rehabbed James is still kicking vocal a** and what can you say about the rest? Hammet is the man, Lars is nuts and new addition Rob Trujillo is a maniacal bass player. He played on Jerry Cantrell's last solo album, so I already loved him, LOL.

OMG, I said this wouldn't be long, but it is...sorry! I could go on an on...

Ive no doubt forgotten many, but it gives you an idea. You must really suck (ie. Superheist) for me to hate a live show, many times Ive gone dubious about a band and ended up loving them (ie. the Music).

PS. Rune you need to get out and see more live music.

Holy crap, you saw Prodigy??? Very cool...They have some bad-ass stuff!
I love the songs Mind Field and Breathe.

I heartily agree on QOTSA and Jane's Addiction, too...Awesome shows...I have tickets for Radiohead on Monday. I can't wait. I have a bootleg of show from London in May. They rock live!

I hope to see Tool and APC at some point, too. Maynard is THE MAN.

I also agree with you on Mudvayne...they were sort of ehhhh. Not a big fan of yet.

Incubus and Default were pretty good, but not in the really good category in my mind...I'm not a huge fan of either, but they did put on decent shows.

I've heard lots about Interpol and Opeth...How would you classify their music? I haven't actually heard anything by them.

A lot of Swedish band! but there aren't coming to play for us over here ofthen...the latest was Nickelback and that was....okay....They had played in Danmark the day before and two girls disappeared...Then just hours before the Swedish performance Nickelback themselfs found 'em in a truck all durty and, you know..heh...So NB called the Swedish polise and they picked 'em up. If NB haven't found 'em they would in somehow get charged for theft...I don't know...So they were very late and was very tierd because of that...But I'm looking forwards to go and see 'em and Creed when the guys are comin' over!

Creed would have play in Stockholm (where I live), but Stapp broken his leg, and they couldn't go...:(

Other good ones: Moody Blues (extremely trippy, but awesome nonetheless); Yes; Elton John (in his younger days, LOL) Neil Young; Crosby, Stills, and Nash; Beach Boys (also in their younger days); Comes With The Fall (these guys ROCK); 12 Stones; Stereofuse.

So-so ones: RHCP (sorry, GGG :D); The Distillers, Jurassic 5 (just not into their stuff); Linkin Park (also not into them, though I have seen worse); Deftones (wayyy too much screaming).

Bad ones: Limp Bizkit (even if they were virtuosos, I still would hate them, LOL), Mad At Gravity (reaaaaally awful live).

I'm with you, Said Eyes, you have to be god-awful to make my bad list because I looooove live music.

OMG!! I could go on 4-ever!! But the one I want to say something about right now to Dogstar and Said Eyes and whoever else wants to hear it ...lol...is A Perfect Circle.............OMFG!!!!! My daughter and I just saw them Monday nite and I can't even begin to tell you how truly AWESOME that show was!! I still haven't come down from it...Since getting into more of the heavier metal stuff in the last year...I have always/only loved rock n roll, but my daughter is a complete Tool/APC freak...I have always liked Tool/APC, but after seeing APC last week, I'm sooo totally hooked!! I can't get enough and Dogstar said it, Maynard is THE MAN!!!! He is soo incredibly awesome, and has "one" of the most awesome voices (IMO) I've ever heard...I am so pumped about seeing them again on Thursday in Utah at Lollapalooza!! They are so going to kick ass!! Now, I just NEED TO SEE TOOL!!! Although I really like APC, I love Tool even more, and Danny Karey on drums is one of the BEST!!! Sorry peps, Dogstar got me going, so blame her!! lol :D ;)

I bet they were on fire for those shows!

It's a pity bands only tour here every 2 years or so (if that much) because it's really hard to get tickets to the good shows. Fifteen minutes of constantly refreshing the website and calling and redialing the ticketers got me a chance to get Metallica tickets and all they had left were the second teir seats. I same deal with Tool, had to settle for seats. At least living in America bands come by pretty often, so it should be easier.

ok, let's see if I can remember everthing, I'll just do the most memorable and the most recent (since I started w/Creed in 2002)

The Who "82 - as far as I can remember "great" lol
Eagle's "95 - AWESOME
Pink Floyd "95 - AWESOME
Page & Plant "95 - AWESOME

I've been to others b4 and after these like:
Boston - my first ever concert when I was 13 in "78
Narareth
ZZ Top
Ted Nugent
Judas Priest - 1984, saw them the day I found out I was pregnant..lol
REO Speedwagon - have seen twice in my lifetime
Styx
Def Leppard
Ok, the above list were concerts from my distant past, I think there were more, but damn if I can remember them right now, so on to the present:

2002:
Creed - 6 times - All of them as awesome as the next, they rock my world!! lol
Incubus - awesome
Disturbed - totally awesome, what can I say!!
Godsmack - totally kick ass!! NYE in Orlando

2003:
Disturbed - May - totally kick ass, again
XFest - May - a ton of great bands, the one's I especially loved were Audioslave, Cold
Godsmack - June - even more kick ass than NYE!! the day I got home from CreedFeed Fest
Foo Fighters - July - Great show!!
Ozzfest - July - awesome, Disturbed and Korn were great, Ozzy did a great job too, made me laugh, he's soo cute (for an old guy)
Metallica - July - they were awesome, didn't even bother to watch Stinkin Park or Limp Dickless, my kid was so bumbed when Deftones didn't play, Mudvayne was ok, but domes suck for concerts

And the BEST so far this year, last Monday nite 8-11-03...A Perfect Circle...still not off that rock n roll high from that show!! Love Maynard James Keenan!!

Am off to Utah either Monday or Tuesday for Lollapalooza, to see A Perfect Circle again YAY!!!! and also to see Incubus and...AUDIOSLAVE

And last, but not least, for now anyways is 3DD, Trapt and Seether on the 31st at the fair...

WHEW!! I'm not sure if I've remembered them all, but that's as much as this mush brain can remember for now. Rock On All!!!

I'm sure you're all glad I'm done babbling, but "Who luvs you all, Baby?" :D

LMAO, Luvscott! Very cool list indeed. Oh, and I'm so glad you enjoyed APC so much. I'm so bummed I missed them in Philly (frigging WORK :()....

Oh, and I would like to add Radiohead to my *great* list. I'm still buzzing from that show. AMAZING stuff; they are incredible live. Two-plus hours and they played three of my all-time favorite songs., I was soooo psyched. Thom Yorke is really animated on stage. Plus, he plays guitar, keyboards and bongos! This show just blew my mind. I'm still replaying the songs in my head. There must have been 20,000+ people there, too. Awesome, awesome, awesome show. I would pay anything to see these guys again!

Creed 2 times...including the awesome NYE show (on the rail :D )
Summer Sanitarium
:bow2: Metallica, what can I say. The Best
...although
Linkin Park was okay the rest of the line-up was pretty poor.

Lollapalooza
Audio Slave  Chris Cornell.... Great Show
Jane's Addiction...very good ...campy but rocked
Incubus...very good
The Donnas surprisingly okay
The Distillers...not impressed

The Boss....Bruce Springsteen.... He's the man. OMG What
a show. :dancing:

tupelocreedfan, my list is almost a carbon copy of yours. So, I knew we had to be around the same age and not only that we are from the same state. I live in Jackson, Ms. I also work in the medical field, I'm a respiratory therapist(for15years) And I love creed. Saw them for the first time on the weathered tour in New Orleans at the new orleans arena(GREAT arena-best ventilation system I have EVER been to-not smokey at all) and of course the BEST live concert I have ever witnessed-love it. Back in the 80's BonJovi was the band for me. And the best live show that I saw back then was Def Leppard by far-AWESOME show.

Said Eyes...go by yourself if you really want to see someone. If the music is worth it, you'll enjoy yourself. I've been to many concerts alone because most of my friends don't like the music I like. ('Course, now I have njcreedite as my new concert buddy :D) I'd rather go than miss the opportunity for a great show!

luvscott4ever: that list is amazing...... :) :)

Best live show ever: Tool in November '02

Truly a spritual experience. I was to young to see Floyd tour and I'm holding out for Waters to rejoin and then go on a farewell tour, but don't think that's happening.

Best rock concert, most fun: Pearl Jam. They are one of the greatest rock bands in the 90's.... They put on an amazing live show. Vedder still has it and McCready is just the man. They always put together one hell of a setlist.

Metallica: One else do I need to say, it was Metallica.

Creed x10 or so.... I followed them around tallahassee when they started out.

Bunch of smaller bands... i.e. saliva, finger 11(they kick ass), social burn... ect. ect.

Bands I want to see -

Pink Floyd - I can hope
Radiohead
Coldplay
A perfect Circle.... realllllllly want to see them.

Billy Joel 1980 (I was 9)
Bon Jovi x5 through late 80's into early 90's
Cinderella (opened for BJ they were brand new)
Skid Row (opened for BJ also brand new)
Bad Company (opened for BJ)

LA Guns :puke: (opened for Crue)
Dream Theater
I Mother Earth (don't even think they are still around: opened for Dream Theater)

Sabastian Bach (solo did a lot of Skid Row tunes)
Jerry Cantrall (opened for Creed)

Not a real impressive list but hopefully it will get better in the coming year :P

Clay Walker -- This was my first concert. He put on a good show and made it a lot of fun. I would go see him again as long as I wasn't spending all of my money on someone else. I don't remember the opening act's name but they were alright for an opening act.

Oleander -- Opening for 3 Doors Down. I had never heard of them before, but thought they did a good job of getting everyone warmed up. Especially the last half of their set which really started to get everyone moving.

Fuel -- Middle act for the 3 Doors Down concert. Fuel did the best in my opinion that night. They really rocked!!

3 Doors Down -- Heavier live in my opinion and that is a good thing.

E'nuff Z'nuff -- I hope I'm spelling that right. Never really cared for them but they were opening for the Poison, Quiet Riot, and Warrant concert. The worst band I've seen live.

Quiet Riot -- Alright so I only know the bands hits and that's pretty much what they played. I thought they were alright but wouldn't pay to see just them.

Warrant -- Very good. Played to the crowd pretty well and rocked the house.

Poison -- Lots of pyro! Which is fine. After the initial high I really thought they put on the best show I had seen up to that point.

Cheap Trick -- Saw half of their set at the Beale Street Music Festival in 2002. I thought they were pretty good.

Puddle of Mudd -- Awesome set! Great warm-up for Incubus at the Festival.

Incubus -- Up to this point Incubus became the best live act for me. Lots of energy, great singing, etc. Really enjoyed it.

Bonnie Raitt -- I only got to catch one song from her set at the Festival, but it was really nice. Would love to see a whole show.

Bruce Springsteen -- I've seen Bruce five times, and he is hands down the best performer/musician ever!! All five times have been on his Rising tour. He really rocks. His music is heavier live and he's got amazing energy. The band is very tight and the interaction with the crowd is fantastic! Bruce kills on guitar live! The man can tear it up when need be. Which if anyone has heard his stuff before he was ever signed to a record deal back in '73 would know for sure. Simply amazing! Words never do justice when I try to describe his shows. As a matter of fact I'm already saving up money for his next tour. I say it will be two years, give or take a little, so I can have a good stash going. :D This is coming to you from a 20 year old--check him out! B)

Creed
Staind
Sammy Hagar
Def Leppard
Bon Jovi
Bruce Springsteen- I saw him on my 18th birthday he has got to be the greatest performer ever. He is easily the best I have ever seen. The guy played a 3 1/2 hour concert and went non stop.

Alter Shredder

Creed, 2 times. Absolutely incredible. NOTHING can come close to the Creed shows.

Default (co-headlining with Creed)- really good, but i was too excited for Creed to get into their show. Reflecting on it i realized they put on one of the better concerts that I've seen.

12 Stones- opening for creed- great rock band. They have lots of energy on the stage. I hope they get more support on their second album.

Jerry Cantrell- as my dad said "Im going to get a drink, this guy sucks". I for once will agree with my dad. Cantrell sucked. He was drunk/stoned. He sounded horrible, and then he swore at the crowd calling us a bunch of mother f#$#%^#$ creed lovers and that we were all pansies who dont deserve f@#$@^%$^ something or other. Yeah he was basically booed off of the stage. No one was happy with him.

Kutless- great hard rock band. They bring a lot to the table at the show. Moshing with them was awesome. Great guys, loud music and a great message.

The Swift- first time not good, second time I loved them. Different style of music but fun.

Mercy Me- not my kind of music, but a good show

Audio Adrenaline-fun concert

Winterjam-lots of acts, favorites were KJ-52 and Tait

Shania Twain-overall entertaining

Michael W. Smith- very nicely done show

SHATTERED VIEW- Great concert, wide range of sounds (soft accoustics to hard rock). Lots of energy in the room. Ranks up in my top 3.

Iced, it's too bad Jerry Cantrell was off the day you saw him. I saw him three times last year, once with Creed and twice on his solo tour, and every show rocked. I think the pairing with Creed was a bad idea, but he really is a very talented writer and guitar player. A lot of today's bands were influenced by him and other bands from the early '90s.
