I have to agree with Steve!!

I did hear the song for the first time today and I wasn't impressed!! I really like Metallica, but for some reason, I didn't like St. Anger...Hoping the rest of the cd is better than that song!!
I heard it three times already, thought maybe I just didn't like it the first time, but I didn't like it the second or third time either!! I haven't seen the video though...no cable...

I think the song and the entire album is awesome. Yes it is different than the old met and the load met but it sound awesome, raw, and powerful. In my opinion, it sound like a garage band sound, which is getting back to their old roots...It nothing like what is being played and I love.......

Personally the song sounds like crap. I like a lot of Metallica's older stuff, but this is completely worse than it. You're right, it sounds garageband'ish. That's what sucks about it. If they would have stuck to their old metal sound and not the garageband sound, it would have sounded better.

I only heard it once and a few audio clips occasionally... from what I heard, I didn´t like it too... but since I´m no Metallica fan... I couldn´t care less! I´m pooping and walking about it!

I dunno I found the new single St.Anger, highly original. Although I do understand where some of you are coming from when you say you do not like it. How many have heard material like this before, probably not many because it's very, very original. Metallica did what they promised. They totally reinvented the process and went back to the roots of what they are. Some may call is slop or whatever, but on a guitar standpoint it is quite techinical (kinda like the load and reload albums) and also the chorus and along with the intro have a good sense speed (remensent to the post 90's metallica albums). I garentee that this album will not suck. Actually I believe it will be well recieved by everyone at some point, espically considering its 11 songs recorded at 79 minutes of good hard rocking goodness.
