The new Foo Fighters album, One-By-One, came out today. I bought it, listened to most of it on the way home from work, and liked it a lot. Good stuff, if you're looking for some solid new tunes.

My daughter picked it up for me today too...I told her to leave it home for me so I could listen to it when I got home from work...But the little shi* must have taken it with her...no sign of it ANYWHERE!!!

Yeah, they really are pretty cool. I saw them open for RHCP back in 2000. The drummer took the mic to cover Have a Cigar by Pink Floyd, and it kicked so much ass it was ridiculous.

SO how many songs are good on it. I want to buy it but I don't want to waste my money on a cd that has only like tow or three good songs.

Well, I don't like to listen to a new album all the way through. I like to acclimate myself to the first 7 or 8 songs first, then move onto the rest as a set. You find a lot of hidden jewels that way, because some songs that don't catch you the first time will really grow on you. But anyway, of the 7 songs I've listened to on the new Foo Fighters, I've listened to them probably 4 times each already (excluding the single which I've heard now like 20 times), and I think it's safe to say all 7 songs I've heard are really worth the time and/or effort it'll take you to get the CD. I've got 3 of them stuck in my head this morning.

What's everyone's favorites off the new Foo Fighters? Mine are tracks 2 and 8 -- "Low" and "Lonely As You," respectively.

thanx a lot i'll get someone to burn it for me! i'm gonna burn a cd with 1 song from some songs that i really have started liking recently. that, some song that been playing alot on the radio too by saliva.....something like ....

"<i>"am i the reason you live, or am i the reason you cry....always, always, always, always, always, i just can't live without you!! i love you, i hate you, i just can't breath without you..."</i> ....then something like...<i>"i just can't take anymoooooore.....this life of solitude..."</i>

can anyone help me out with that one too?

Dogstar

Yer welcome. I don't know much about Saliva. They have been playing a song on the radio recently, but I guess it hasn't hit me the same way. I have several radio compilations. It's a lot of fun to have because then you don't have to hear all the commercials but you get all the cool radio tunes.

The new Saliva song is called Always, and it's an amazingly good song. Their CD comes out next Tuesday.

The music of Saliva is alright. Some good melodies, riffs, etc. However, when that Josey guy opens his mouth, that whole band goes straight to the crapper on a jet bound for Hades.

jango,

I totally agree with that statement... I like a few of their songs but when I saw them open for Nickelback last year (or the year before?) I almost had to leave to puke in the bathroom. They were worse then Sevendust was when I saw them open for Creed (I hate singers that scream through the entire show and don't attempt to sing).

jango

Exactly, there is, believe it or not, a way to 'scream' musically. Maynard does it well. It's a form of lachrymology, but Josey just does it (like many others, mudvayne, I'm lookin' your way) mainly as a gimmick.

I saw a snippit of Saliva's RnR Hall of Fame performance, and the guy could barely make through the rest of the show after the first song. Skipped half of the verses in each song to get a drink of water.

However, this was nice because it allowed me to listen to the actual talent in the band, devoid of the laryngitis infected nails-to-chalkboard voice of that man and his crap lyrics.
