I'm 35. GGG, you have been great! You keep taking great care of yourself (including being good to yourself when it comes to your bf). If he doesn't take good care of you, you don't need him.

GGG You should never be ashamed of your age. I'll respect your wishes to keep it a secret of course. However, I think it's a shame that a wonderful woman such as yourself would be ashamed of their age.

*looks down at toes*

Nope... no toes were stepped on here. ;) :D

Nope... no toes were stepped on here. ;) :D I didn't say I was ashamed of my age But I don't think it's anyones business do you? What's your street address Lady V??? Ask jango what his age is?? he won't tell you either.. please stop making such a big issue out of this...I't a womans perogative to not wanna tell her age, whah? You never heard of this??

Lady Valkyrie

I am not the one making a big deal out of anything, GGG. You compare me being curious about boardies ages with asking for their addresses? That's grasping at straws if you ask me. You go to any BB and you will see at least one thread that asks fellow boardies their age. It's not an uncommon thing I ask here. I am merely curious. I am not putting a gun to anyone's head and forcing them to tell me their age. If you do not want to reveal your age I really can respect that ... AS I SAID... but really GGG... no one made you participate in this thread at all now did they?

And as for me using the word ashamed twice... so...? Your point is? I used that word to explain that, that's how you came across to me... as though you had something to hide or were ashamed. However you have corrected me on this... you are not ashamed... but you just feel that age is a private thing... that's fine... I told you that I respect that. It must make it hard when you have to give your birthdate to fill out applications for employment or for anything for that matter though. LOL ;)

Let it go, now it just seems that you are browbeating her. Everyone is entitled to participate in any thread they please, they aren't all required to give full disclosure at your request. Move on to someone else now, please.

Explaining how I feel and what I meant is not browbeating... it is called explaining how one feels and what exactly they meant when one is misunderstood.

Geez, GGG! She didn't make a big deal of anything! Re-read her post (without prejudice this time) and see that she was actually making LIGHT of it and joking about it. You're the one that turned it into a big deal and replied with sarcasm. If talking about your age makes you so edgy, then simply don't post in this thread. (I'm not trying to be mean, but I can't stand it when people jump all over people for no reason.)

I allow myself to feel. I am a single mother of 3. My daughter is 11, middle son is 8 and youngest is 5. I am only 29. I work full time, coach soccer in the winter, and am active in Arielle's dance class. Ugh! But, I love my life. Now all I need is an honest man.

I have 2 daughters and a husband myself and work part time, and I have the utmost respect for single moms who do it all themselves. I have no idea how you do it and I sometimes feel like I couldn't do it myself. (I'm sure given the situation, I would find a way, but I am in awe of those who are!!)
I'll keep my fingers cross for you regarding the honest man.;)

Age is really just a number. I haven't felt my numerical age in years. I had a great time in my twenties and still feel like I am back there.

You're approaching your 30's Lady V. You'll find that once you pass 30, nothing really changes. If you had a young attitude in your 20's you will still have it. For some reason, this world makes us think that older people think in "older ways" and youth is for the young. It's not that simple. Who would think that we would see 60 year old people going to see a rock band like Creed in concert. But I saw plenty of them. Just cause we get older, it doesn't mean we have to 'think' like were over the hill.
