...and I have to send in 5-7 pages of poems, can you be-LEEVE it?!?! Here's one of them, tell me if you like it...
Live Again
Red.
All I see is red.
Blood runs down my arms, my thighs
My hands shake violently, so violently that
I almost drop the blade that is enclosed in them.
The bloody vision blurs before my eyes
It takes a moment for me to realize
that I am crying.
Just what am I trying to prove?
That my life really is as destroyed
as everyone says it is?
That I am a victim
of the most sordid of acts?
That I'll never live
as that child that danced in sunbeams
again?
In the midst of the darkness, my darkness
I look up
and see the light.
Unconsciously I reach out for the rays
spilling through my window
and envision that God is shining down upon
my ravaged form.
I can almost hear his voice!
I envision him saying to me,
You can look at yourself, child,
and live again.
