Just curious. What other bands are you guys into? Are most Alter Bridge fans just old Creed fans? It seems like AB attracts fans of different bands than Creed did as well.

I am into heavier music with AB being one of those bands I listen to when I get tired of heavy stuff

Other bands that I love that are similar to AB style are probably

Cold (My favorite)
Sevendust
3 Doors Down

But I mainly am into metal stuff like Slayer, etc

Green Day
Aerosmith
Nirvana
Mayfield 4
Metallica
Zeppelin
Creed, of course

Lots of stuff, man. I'll just name some of the artists/bands here:

Creed
12 Stones
Sanctus Real
Submersed
Pillar
Audioslave
U2(just got Joshua Tree this week...man does it rock!)
Temple Of The Dog(just got their CD this week.....awesome stuff)
Mayfield Four
Virgos Merlot
Dark New Day
Shinedown
Switchfoot(only their last two CDs, as I've never listened to their earlier ones)
Skillet
Scott Stapp
Our Lady Peace
Todd Agnew
Jeremy Camp
Thousand Foot Krutch

Like I said, that's just SOME of it. I really mainly stick to Modern/Hard rock and select Christian contemporary artists. Lately, though, I've been going back and finding good stuff from the late 80s/early 90s, such as TOTD and U2(their earlier stuff). A lot of what is on the radio today, quite frankly, sucks.

geesh. i like at least a couple of songs from so many bands, so many that are part of the current (since about '96 or so, actually) alt-metal & post-grunge "movement." but here are the ones, old-school to modern, that I listen to most consistently:

Creed
AB
Led Zeppelin
The Who
Submersed
Edgewater
P.O.D.
Demon Hunter
The Mayfield Four

I also like some others (we'll call this my second tier) from time to time:

My normal "mix" list of music I open up and set on random in WinAmp includes stuff from bands like:

Alter Bridge
Audioslave
Big Wreck
Creed
Dark New Day
Earshot
Finger Eleven
Foo Fighters
Four Years Past
Godsmack
Goran & The Gufs
Greenwheel
Nickelback
Our Lady Peace
Shinedown
Spirit Creek
Submersed

And then I mix in just one or two songs from other bands that I don't really "like" (they just have one or two good songs and that's it).

Mayfield 4, Foo Fighters, Audioslave are really the only modern rock bands I enjoy. Everyone else sounds exactly the same, although there are a few songs here and there I *might* be able to bear.

Old stuff is where it's at. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam (although I suppose they are still around) Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Deep Purple, the Who, U2 (again, I suppose they are still around, but their old stuff was better), Stevie Ray Vaughn, etc. etc. etc.

I also like guys such as Steve Vai and Joe Petrucci.

A really good newer blues player (I love the blues) is Joe Bonemassa.... he rocks. I also listen to some Jazz... John Coltrane, Mingus, other stuff.

And of course, my guilty pleasure, Bon Jovi ;-)

I used to really like pearl jam, but lately or to me at least it seems as though everything from vitalogy was kinda unispired and the audial equivalant of stale coke. It seems as though they are just lazy. The first two albums rocked my socks off, where eddie did not sound like he was just crooning like he was passing a kidney stone the size of a basket ball.

Meh, that's why I classified them under "old" stuff, lol... although it isn't really THAT old, even then.

The only whole album I can really listen to by PJ is Ten, their first. Seems like I only like one or two songs off of each of the rest of their albums, but there's no way I could sit down & actually listen to any other straight through.

Ahh lets see...Soungarden, Audioslave, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Mayfield Four, and Alter Bridge I listen to quite a bit. I'm just getting into Queensryche and I listen to Tantric and Default every once in a while.

Lately I've been enjoying some softer stuff like Coldplay, Jeff Buckley, and Damien Rice.

I'm afraid I'm going to out myself as someone who hates the generic modern rock music you folk are all raving about (Submersed, Sevendust, Dark New Day, 3 Doors Down etc), but I really can't stand it.

Bands I'm currently in love with:

The Arcade Fire
Sufjan Stevens
The Shins
John Mayer Trio
The Mars Volta
Elliott Smith
Jeff Buckley

And awesome bands in a second tier of liking, if you will:

Muse
Radiohead
Our Lady Peace
Doves
The Mess Hall
The Polyphonic Spree
Architecture in Helsinki
Black Mountain.

And when my only Christmas gifts were a record player and my dad's old collection, well, theres a whole lot of awesomeness in there it's unbelievable. Rolling Stones, Beatles, Santana, Zepellin, Pink Floyd, Tim Buckley, Queen, Bob Dylan, the Boss...

Shhhh! They have ears everywhere! Even in the trees...

This sums it up. (White Light/White heat is a Velvet Underground record for those not in the know)
"Modern Music" and "No Satisfaction" rock a White Light/White Heat tumble that's nevertheless well done, particularly on the former, which features some spectacular sax assistance from Vancouver area player Masa Anzai. The remainder of Black Mountain positions stoner rock chording over swirling vintage keys and the ever-impressive vocals of McBean and Webber.
