The Great Divide (Album) has now fallen to #51 on Billboard!!!
The single is no where to be seen on the charts.

Being the optimistic person that I am, this doesn't really concern me that much. Lots of albums don't always do well on the charts in the first few weeks. Some just need time to build more momentum and be successful. This MIGHT be one of those albums. It is obvious that the first single hasn't done all that well. I'm thinking if WU releases "Surround Me" next, that'll probably do much better. It just seems to be more radio friendly and catchy than TGD. I really hold it in the same vein as WAWO.....and we all know how big of a hit that was.

At this point, I would hope that people won't give up on this CD or Stapp's solo career. It is wayyyyyyy too early to judge everything based off the 3 week sales total. We'll see how things look in a year or two. Until then, those of us who are fans just gotta hope that more and more people are open to giving Stapp's music a chance. It seems like, given some of his silly antics in the past, as well as what has happened recently, people are unwilling to even play his music. Radio stations will play requests for Alter Bridge(which I am VERY thankful for), yet not Stapp. They'll EVEN play requests for Creed. Believe me, I have TRIED hard to get Stapp more airplay on my local rock station. I've requested him during the All-Request Lunch Hour. I even did an "experiment" and requested both Stapp and AB at roughly the same time. Guess who got played?

Anyway, I admit that it is frustrating that the CD hasn't moved 200,000 yet......but 170,000 isn't that bad. It's a far cry from what Creed sold, but times have changed since the last Creed CD came out. And just because Stapp's CD isn't flying off the shelves, that doesn't make it a horrible CD. If that were the case...then that Ashlee Simpson CD is an amazing CD. Sales rarely actually represent quality of music.

Ever the optimist and long-winded poster :D

Not to be a dick but I just think people are sick and tired of Scott Stapp and his exaggerated vocals. If the guy just toned it down a bit and didn't try to go over board with his singing he would still be good.

When I saw him sing the National Anthem at the world series I about vomited. 'oooh aaa seeeey aaaaaa, can uuuu a aaa seee aaaa'

MOP is awesome after that he started trying too hard

Exactly, Ana. The haters are quick to dismiss his solo CD and career as unsuccessful just because it has not caught on in the first 3 weeks. I think, to be fair, they need to give him a bit more time. Let's see what happens when he starts touring.

I dont wanna make a drama about it but if i would read a comment mentioning my mom like you did, i would like to kick the ass of the person that wrote the comment. I dont take those comments as funny, maybe cause the memory of my mom is noone business...its very ofensive in my opinion

Maybe in good ol' Espana mom jokes aren't common. It's a joke. Relax.

In Spain we have a very open sense of humor (España....not ol'Espana:confused: ). But i dont think you understand when i post, or maybe you dont wanna understand. I will clear it for you. My mom is dead and if someone post a joke like you did mentioning her what i feel is that i wanna puch that person. I dont think you have the right to joke with noone moms.

I didn't make a joke about your mom. In the States, when one makes a joke like that... you're not supposed to take it personally. I have quite a few dead family members, whom I was close to... and if I know the context in which the joke was used, that will dictate my reaction to it. I apologize to all those who are offended.

Do you guys think the reason TGD isn't flying off the shelves is because it's been 3 years since Creed has been an actual band and that Stapp is basically forgotten by the masses? AB released ODR within a year of the Creed breakup. It AT LEAST went gold, didn't it?

well, although the chart status doesn't really reflect it, TGD is selling about as well as AB's did...
