Stapp has cancelled his rockline appearance this coming December 5th... hrmm.. if Stapp doesn't start addressing the 311 fiasco and possibly the Casino Night event on Spike TV, his image is going to drop even lower than it may already be. This really isn't looking good.

I would say that this was probably WU's idea. They're probably hoping that by keeping him quiet, the whole thing will die down and just go away by itself without an explanation on their part. However, I don't think that'll be the case. I think the best thing for WU/Stapp to do at this point is to have Stapp tape an apology and put that on his web site, maybe even get it on the news. Even if he didn't start the fight and just taunted 311(by calling S.A.'s wife a name or whatever) he was still at fault. If he wants to save his image, an apology to 311, his fans and his record label would be the best thing right now. Admitting that he was wrong will show that he knows his actions weren't justifiable and that he is truly sorry for what he did .

Yes, this is bad, given that the CD just came out.

Back in the old days, its just going away might have happened. But with the advent of the internet and communication being what it is and so many people having access, it won't just die down. People are getting used to having access to their musical idols on the web. Some artists have embraced it, while others haven't. I hate to say it, but Stapp hasn't exactly been tops when it comes to admitting wrongdoing or apologizing.

I wouldn't doubt that it IS Windup's idea, as it IS quite a BAD idea, and they have quite an extensive history of bad ideas...at least lately...

If he would say for once that it was his fault or give an apologie i would take my hat off for the guy for once in my life. Or he tries to leave behind him his attitude problem or his reputation will be the worst one on the rock buisness. I wish the guy was in different way so his music career would be better

I bet Rockline tried to get 311 to come on live once Stapp cancelled. That would have been their best choice as a business. Who wouldn't tune in to hear what 311 had to say regarding the incident. Unfortunately 311 just happens to be performing in my home town Dec 5 heh

ALTER BRIDGE is replacing Stapp on ROCKLINE!!!

Not only it's ALTER BRIDGE, but it's an ENCORE, which means they'll re-air one of their previous interviews to replace live Stapp!

Tell me about Karma!!!

I gotta give props to titan, though. Always an optimistic! Seriously, we need more optimism these days! (no, I'm not being sarcastic, I really mean it!)

Totally agree, which is why I'd like to think he'd do things differently this time, own up for it and apologize for his part in it.

I'm really starting to believe in that theory that Wind-Up is run by monkey's....

Thanks for the props, man. ;) Really, all I can do as a fan is be optimistic. It's either that or join in with the cynics who are shredding him to pieces(and perhaps rightfully so). I still believe he can be a successful solo artist, but only if he addresses his problems, apologizes, tours extensively and puts out good music. He's put out a good debut(imo), but he apparently hasn't done those other things yet. Being positive in times like these is hard; being negative is easy. I'll take the hard way anyday. :D

It would have been even better if it were a new, live interview with AB!

You know, it's ironic... Like Marcos said: "Talk about Karma"!

Stapp screws up, and AB gets more promoted! Maybe Stapp should to more of those crappy things?

Here's what is posted on Rockline (I like how they said a "last-minute cancellation):

Alter Bridge has joined us twice to support their debut album "One Day Remains". In fact, they gave us the world radio premiere and performed live on the show August 9, 2004. Obviously, things turned out pretty well for the band after that and they joined us once again in April of this year. Due to a last minute cancellation regarding another artist, we are now pleased to offer this exclusive Encore ROCKLINE featuring Alter Bridge performing live and describing what was then their new band and album. The show is filled with anticipation and hopefulness as Mark Tremonti, Myles Kennedy, Scott Phillips and Brian Marshall prepared to embark on what was then an unknown journey.

ROCKLINE has learned that Alter Bridge is ready to return to the studio soon in preparation for their sophomore release. So, before that event takes place, we'll revisit this moment in the infancy of a band that has now carved their niche and made a place for themselves in the pantheon of Rock. Alter Bridge has just concluded a tour with Three Doors Down, and "One Day Remains" has been certified gold in the U.S. Learn more at AlterBridge.com.

Join us for an Encore evening with Alter Bridge, highlighted by a live performance on the next ROCKLINE!
