 Faded Roses Blush A rose is a rose by any name To which love is compared She shares her perfect beauty With passion and with flair As long as she is nurtured Shown gentle, loving care… The rose of love will flourish It doesn’t matter where Roses begin aging As time passes…it’s unfair Her perfect beauty’s fading For no more looks are spared Then out there in the darkness Someone becomes aware Of the love that lies within this rose… She’s awakened by their stare The rose’s blush returns again There’s natural beauty there Love’s no longer dying Or held in disrepair Awakened through the gazing eyes Of one special soul that cared The rose of love still lives on… Because of one that dared ©2005 Susan D.
