Dayton OH, 11/21/02-Best Concert Ever!

You guys wouldn't believe this show. I've been to see Creed in Cincinnati and San Antonio within the past 2 months--they were awesome, but they really outdid themselves last night. They performed for almost 2 hours, with probably only 10 minutes break total. Scott talked before almost every song (if not all). He even explained what the song "Hide" meant to him. He said that he has never shared this at any concert. He did the Indian chant and an Indianan dance himself. Mark changed up many of the guitar licks. Scott gives the appearance that he adores his fans, as much as he is adored. It really makes everyone feel special, if even just for a moment. Just totally awesome. I feel very lucky to have been able to see last night's show.

meaning of Hide

He said that about 2 years ago, he was bitc*in about his life. He said "can you believe it, what do I have to bitc* about. " he wrote the song to himself to tell himself to stop hiding from the fame. He said that a magical thing happened to him when Mark wrote the music--he said it released him.

Pretty cool!

I think that it is awesome that they had a over the top performance on 11/21, i always think that their shows are top notch, but to have hardly any breaks and to let you know the meaning of songs, that's a perfect night. It's great to see that after Hilaree's 11/14 incident that he is doing well! in that article it said she was released the Thursday following the incident so that would be 11/21, too, right?

Scott seemed happy--he smiled a lot--I hope he really was, especially after the Hillaree stuff.

I sure wish I could have been there to see Scott in rare form. I do have a problem with him even if he was drinking before the show. Most rock bands are under the influence of something at most of their shows anyway. If Scott needed to blow off some steam because of all the shit that's going on with him...well, he's human, so I can't blame him. But then again I admit it is hard for me to have a problem with much of anything that he does.

I heard that Flip & Mark had beers (the other girls I was with saw them), but I am not sure if Scott was drinking or not. I heard from security he was not. Who knows?

he always has mentioned being a "budweiser man", hell we all have a beer every now and then and we all get a little tipsy, he may have needed something to calm his temper after all that's happened. he has always mentioned having a bad temper as well. i think it's perfectly normal and you gotta love that smile, i don't care how the smile gets there, as long as it's there. i recorded the alcatraz concert off tv and at the beginning of when they sing higher and he's leaning down smiling at the audience just makes me melt, i watch that part atleast 10 times a day.
