prescription addiction?

why is is that all famous people are hooked on prescription medicin instead of the good old drugs? or is it just a nice way of saying someone famous who is a rolemodel of some is on coke 24/7?

Im not judging its just funny that theyre on prescription drugs now but in 10 years theyll tell us how they battled drug addiction 10 years ago and are now drug free

And everytime Ive seen scott in an interview or radioshow or anything he mentions the prescription drug thingy and blames the Dr. and all, and If you saw the recent interview he had that he left the studio it was very very apparent that he was on coke to my experience and he also did mention that he hasnt slept for 2 days to finish the album. thats what they do at studios; sniff and work and no sleep.

P.S I love his work and understand that his personal life is no ones business but I just dont get the fact that they have to revolve around stupid stories when they can just not talk and keep personal things to themselves like many other artists out there.

prescriptions drugs are still drugs, so it's not like they're lying when they say they beat drug addiction. in fact, it's prolly even more difficult since it's likely more-easily-accessed than, say, heroin or crack. at least it seems like they'd be.
