I don't believe Marilyn Manson is an original, if anything he is a copycat. Here are a few examples Kiss, Alice Cooper, King Diamond these are just to name a few that he has copied. He is definately not a leader I'd say more of a follower..

His music has nothing to do with bands you listed. It is his music that sets him apart. Also it is not right to call anyone who has theatrics a copycat. Accoding to your logic most bands are copycats of Beatles.

All I know is Manson to me is a bad influence on the youth of today and he has a crappy voice in my opinion, VERY high pitched and whinney! I have not been real impressed with his so called "music" yeah it is supposed to be "shock rock' but really what is the point, as if there is not enough negativity in the world today! We don't need anymore shock than already exists in daily life as it is!
