Summer Sanitarium 2003

So last night I went and saw a MetallicA concert. And right when we got there we were expecting to be seeing the deftones preform. Because the lineup to start at 3:00 was:
Mudvayne
Deftones
Linkin Park
Limp Bizkit
METALLICA

And we got there at about 3:45. So later, we Linkin Park gets up there, and says lets get so loud that Chino can hear you over at the HCMC Hospital

Chino is the singer and guitarist for Deftones. That scared the shit out of me, I had no idea what happened. Linkin Park did alright, but it was hard to hear the voice because the DJ (whatever you call him

) and the bass over-powered the vocals, and you could barely hear the guitar. I am not really a Limp Bizkit fan so I wasn't looking forward to their preformance at all, but they could really tear it up. I was really shocked, the fans got into it, he got into it, and even I did. Then Limp Bizkit closed and it was time for Metallica...

It seemed like forever ago when we got those tickets, and finally they were about to hit the stage. They opened with Battery and then right into Master of Puppets, so they came out swinging.

The crowd was so loud, you could definetly tell these people were here to see Metallica. Metallica blew the roof off the place, and had two encores. Definetly the highlight of the evening. I'll post some pics later.

I almost got to go to the SS tour two years ago. I'd love to go and see Metallica live. That'd be so sweet.

I guess they played five songs and the booing was so bad that Fred started talkin smack and the crowd started throwing water bottles at him and they left. I'm just relaying the info I heard on 99x this morning

Steve posted some articles about the Illinois incident. It's in this forum...I saw them in Philly. Metallica were AWESOME. I didn't care about the other bands, I was definitely just there for Metallica. They said in Philly that they were coming back in six months to play across the street (First Union Center or Spectrum), and I'm hoping they play more of St. Anger!
