Freedom Fighter

I have a question... What does Creed mean with "holy war" in the song Freedom Fighter? Do they refer to a christian holy war?

Re: Freedom Fighter

probably whats going on in the middle east. all the battles that go on there are due to religous beliefs. in some ways.

Re: Freedom Fighter

Scott was never good about telling his fans what the lyrics meant. He wanted you to make up your own meaning.

Re: Freedom Fighter

When he sings, can you take me higher, to me, he is saying that he's already high, meaning, high on drugs. That's my opinion on that particular song. What do you guys think?

Yup. That's the way all lyrics should be. (unless it is a dedication, or biography) If not, music would just be another tool instead of a release.

Um, NO. Not at all. To me, he is singing about being with a person that can take you to a whole nother level of yourself that you didnt even know existed.

sorry for the double post, dont know how to reply to multiple quotes at once.....

Man if I had a dime for every time I've heard THIS one... and not always in a flattering tone, at that.

I seem to remember reading an interview with Stapp where he stated that the song "Higher" was about escaping reality through his dreams, or something of that nature. That being said, it's still a song like any other, and therefore completely open to personal interpretation.

I always saw it as an escape song myself... but that's because I needed one.

Re: Freedom Fighter

^Yeah, that's what I remember it being about.

For me, "Higher" is the one song that kinda takes me to another place. That main guitar riff is my favorite one ever. Whenever I hear that song, I feel like a major burden has been lifted off of my back.

Re: Freedom Fighter

Personally I think fighting against 311 and antichristians and rascistics is a "Holy War". Good Stapp ´s done there! My personal knights´point of view, and he Scotts´ should not be ashamed of it!!
So what we are talking about, heh?
About a knight called Scott Stapp or "gummibärchen"?
Let me say you this:
So what? To excuse yourself for your bible in hands?
What are you people? Christians or islamistic fashists like the socialists in good old fucking germany!?
