3 doors down's first cd. I like their second, their first was just bad.

coheed and cambria's new cd...i dont know what I was thinking. Again a friend told me to buy it before i had even heard them cause it was only 6$.

I disagree, 3dd's first cd was far superior to their second. They actually had cool guitar solos on it, it was less popish and had less ballads and more harder rock. I grew up with the better life.

Yup... The Better Life is far superior to their second album. That, My Own Prison, and Nickelback's debut were the three albums I listened to nonstop when they came out. Those were the days... I think I was a junior in highschool! Saw 3DD and Nickelback in a venue that held about 500 people and paid $5 to see!!!

I cant stand their second album, like three of the songs, i cant even hum to unless the music is playing somewhere, cuz ill mix them together, they all sound the same
the first had aquite a bit more...ooomph to it, compare like krytonite to better life, to any song on there, theyre all solid and they contrast nicely....
one of the few albums from like 5 years ago that i listen to still, every now and then.

3 Doors Down's first album was better than their 2nd.

Just take a look at 2 of the singles off of each album
Kryptonite and Loser vs. Here Without You and When I'm Gone

Hide, I guess I was really disappointed because it sounded much less interesting than their earlier stuff. It seemed kind of bland. I've only listened to it twice, though, but it just didn't grab me. Same with Tantric. I found the second album boring and repetitive. The first was much better.

oh, so you weren't bashing 3eb's self-titled album? whew. which one? "blue," or "out of the vein"? OotV likely sounds more bland b/c they, unfortunately, changed guitarists between the 2nd & 3rd albums. the old guitarist, kevin cadogan, rocked hella better than tony friedanelli (sp), the current guy. kinda like marcos & truby, w/ POD.

Oops, I was talking about the Tea Party, so yeah, I was bashing the Third Eye Blind's album, whichever one it was...I'll have to check...It's the one with Semi-Charmed Life on it.

oh no you di'n't! that happens to be my favorite one lol. The Background (track 12) is my fave song on there, along w/ How's It Going to Be (6) & God of Wine (14--that's right: they used to release CD's w/ more than 10 or 12 songs on 'em!).
as for The Tea Party, I haven't listened to all of Seven Circles, but the songs to which I have listened--Stargazer, One Step Closer Away, Seven Circles--are pretty cool IMO. Of course, I kinda like the whole semi-industrial-semi-ambient sound lol.

Hehe, sorry 'bout that, Bearfan, I just couldn't get into Third Eye Blind ...The Tea Party one isn't rubbish, as hide said, but it was just such a letdown after the other two I have. I'll have to give Seven Circles another shot .

Ummm they seemed to make a more radio-friendly album with Seven Circles and I guess that made it less intersting. Have you seen them live? I've got a mate up in Sydney who has seen them down here and said Martin live is just awesome.

I have Transmission and Edges of Twighlight. They are both great. If you like a more mainstream/radio sound, you might like Seven Circles better. The two I have sound a little more world-musiclike. Some of it has an almost Middle East feel to it. I like it a lot.
