I have a question:
anyone here who didnīt read the books neither before or after watching the movie enjoyed it?

I was completely lost...thatīs why I think I didnīt like it...

I only read the first book. I haven't read the second or third. I think the thing with The Lord of the Rings is you have to be a fan of Fantasy stuff or you won't like it (although I know someone who despises fantasy stuff but thought the movie was excellent).

I read all the books and loved them. I was obsessed with them when I was in high school. The movie was OK, but it was soooo long. I just don't like really long movies. It's hard not to make the LOTR movies anything but, because the stories are so detailed. I went under protest with a group of friends who voted for that movie. I don't like going to movies made of my favorite books because I often have my own pictures in my mind about what the characters look and sound like. Movies take that away.
