no illusions don't count so dreams of an encounter with the girl from the victoria' secret catalogue doesn't count. must be actual physical girls that would look at you twice.

I think it's stupid, it's good music, and should be free to anyone, they shouldn't have to pay to listen to it! I just think it's weird. I don't know of any New Zealand rock bands who do that here, probably because the companies don't have enough money for the request. J/k.

Listen, EVERY single artist/band does that!! And of course they should get payed!! If you wear a Toronto-cap the money goes to Toronto... If you play a Creed song, the money goes to Creed!! Of course you should pay for playing other peoples music!!

I came across the article that I read on this....published in the Orlando Sentinel......

Ex-Creed songwriters take on dancers who take it off at club
Published June 10, 2004

Orlando rock band Creed may have split up, but a lawsuit filed by local guys Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti -- against a strip club in Clearwater -- is still making its way through the courts.

According to papers filed in Florida's U.S. Middle District, the guys from Creed are among a group of songwriters and copyright holders upset that the Diamond Doll dancers have given "public performances" to their music without permission.

Also named as a plaintiff: Janet Jackson. Yes, Janet Jackson is involved in a lawsuit against folks who promote the removal of tops.

In actuality, the big-name plaintiffs didn't personally file the suit. A spokesman for the lead complainant, the nonprofit Broadcast Music Inc., said the bulk of its clients are unknown songwriters "struggling to pay their bills."

And that's why the law requires businesses to pay a licensing fee, anywhere from $275 to $8,000 a year, to play their music, said spokesman Jerry Bailey.

The owner of Diamond Dolls -- who made headlines a few years ago when another fellow sued the club, claiming a particularly well-endowed dancer's endowments nearly knocked him unconscious -- didn't return calls.

But Bailey said his group sued only after the Dolls ignored 27 letters and 72 phone calls. "We don't take these suits lightly," he said, adding that his group is almost always successful. "They are a last resort."

He probably couldn't get to the phone, her 'endowments' were probably blocking his way.

According to a nation-wide survey, "My Sacrifice" is right up there with Motley Crue's "Girls Girls Girls" in terms of strip club music use.
