I hate that you make feel this way

thanks heaps for the encouragement, no i am not in a band. as for my voice its good for the shower but its not for public consumption! i can play the drums a bit but that is about all. i don't think music companies employ people to write lyrics, because frankly the pop world doesn't want or care about lyrics of any substance. i did enter one of my poem's in a local writing compeition and i'll see how i go. i have no idea how many people entered or what the compeition is like. what's the last thing a drummer saids to his bandmates? hey guys can we try one of my songs!

LOL!! Sounds like me! People always tell me when (if!!) I get a band I should sing as well because they are my songs. I'm like, no you haven't heard me sing. Sometimes I think I'm okay at singing and other times I think only dogs could love a singing voice like mine. Although we all sound better with the rock music accompanying our voice.

Ah-Ha! The old Ringo Starr complex. Well, you're wrong that record companies don't buy lyrics. Hell, where do you think pop bands get their stuff? You didn't really think they wrote it themselves??? Most of them didn't. There's a huge market for country lyrics too, which is really just a twangy version of rock now-a-days anyway. You should look into it. I know that there is one book in particular called, the Writer's Market for songwriters. Anyway, it doesn't really matter what you do with it, as long as you enjoyed creating it, right? And I certainly enjoyed reading it. Keep it up!

ah thanks but where would one go to put forward their lyrics? i know the songwriting business is VERY competitive and i thought they wanted complete songs not just lyrics? i can't imagine britney singing Every table you've sat at
