a solo album from mark

this was rumoured to be happening but we now know it wasen't seriously on the cards, hopefully after this album is recorded and toured it will happen. anyhow dave grohl has done a metal album that is basically a solo album titled probot(self-titled). he plays all instruments but he has all his fav metal vocalists singing and as far as i know he doesn't sing on a single song. it comes out in feb for anyone that cares.

anyhow it would be great for mark to do something similar he could play all the instruments as he is learning to play drums and should be able to pick it up easily enough. Mark could sing on one or two songs and have guest vocalists. He could get guys from his fav metal bands such as Hetfield, the guy from Indorphine and the like. He could also utilise Maynard James Keenan, Stapp and if they get on(not sure if they do) Dave Grohl who is a good screamer plus a whole host of names we don't know.

so what do you think?

i don't know how many special guests he could come up with. I was thinking last night that he could get Stapp obviously, perhaps Keenan, Aaron Lewis and Troy on the guitar for one song.

it would be great Tremonti did a couple of things in this break but mainly producing so hopefully between the next two albums the guys will form some side-projects. With Mark I would love either Downshifter to become reality or for him to do a solo album. With Stapp I would love for him to do a more bluesey Doors style album I know he loves that sort of stuff, either a solo album or singing in front of a band. Philips could drum again with either Submersed or another band.

well... he's on the way to make a completely solo album: we all know he can write music, rock on the guitar, jam on bass... and now he's taking drum classes!!! oh my!!! Go Mark!

yeah I was a little surprised to hear he was learning the drums but this is so cool. He should be able to pick it up very quickly, I can't wait for a Mark solo album. I'm looking forward to it almost as much as the next Creed album. He can of course sing he does a good job backing up Stapp and the chorus in MOP is great. He is a great songwriter and lyrcist eg:Torn.

the Dave Grohl metal album "Probot" will rock one song has Kim Thayil as a special guest which will rock. Hopefully Grohl has vocals on at least one song.
