Dustin 'Goldust' Runnels will be released from WWE when his contract runs up in January of 2004.
Goldust's release shouldn't come as a surprise and had been talked about for some time. There are a lot of guys on the roster right now who's contracts are running up. We know of at least one former ECW superstar as well as Rob Van Dam who's contracts are coming to an end. RVD has begun talks with WWE about re-signing. ZERO-ONE in Japan had been anticipating Runnel’s release and plans to bring him over to work as Dustin Rhodes when he is available to work. Indy worker Steve Corino suggested to Dustin's father, Dusty Rhodes, that he come to ZERO-ONE. Dustin had been out of action suffering from an elbow injured; but has since been cleared to return to the ring. [color=red]H/color]-D
