Yeah, there is a difference between solo projects and new bands with familiar faces.Chris had his solo project wich really wasnt marketed, but Audioslave as a new band was. Alter Bridge will probably be marketed the in the same way. They beat around the bush a little by saying its Marks side project right now but its really the new band! Wind up still wants to sell Creed records and Scotts project as well. When the ball starts rolling though, they will be behind it pushing~

That's true, too, Audioslave was promo'ed all over the place. I remember reading about them months before even the single was released. That was a great marketing job.

A record label doesn't lose money by not marketing a solo album. They didn't make a video or do any promotion whatsoever.

I didn't say they did...I said they don't release anything with the intention of it not selling.

But you said Chris Cornell failed. How can he fail if he's already rich and famous and released a solo album for the hell of it?

Audio

AudioSlave had press that they were on again off again, will tour wont tour, getting along not getting along etc. None of that in this case. When W-U starts the marketing blitz we will all know it.

So far Wind-Up is doing a good job with Alterbridge using Michael Tremonti to help reach out and get fans up-to-date and whatnot.

I didn't say he failed. I said his solo album did not do well. Get your facts straight.

How can a solo album fail if it wasn't intended to be promoted? You also were sarcastic about the label not wanting his solo album to sell.

Ya know, Trees of Wisdom, I don't know what your problem is. I wasn't being sarcastic at all. I don't know where you got that from. All I said was that a label isn't in the business of not trying to make money. Man, you need to fricken chill. I'm done with you.

Yeah, they didnt market Chris`s solo, did he even have a single? He played a couple shows here, but were only 4 hrs from his home.Chris`s wife was Myles manager by the way, until she retired.

Well, I got offended when you said Chris Cornell's solo album failed.

fail

probably ment failed sales wise, a great record wont sell if nobodys pushing it. Not sure if even Chris was pushing it. Maybe he had a contractual obligation or maybe he just had some songs he wanted to record etc. but nobody was pushing it. By the way it was good.
