damn it! I need a COMPUTER GEEK to help me! URGENT!

hi,

I´ll make it short:

since this weekend, my computer became really slow!!! When I click on the IE icon, it takes like 10 to 15 seconds to open the browser, and it happens the same to some other icons and folders and there are some folders I can´t even open...

When my browser opens, another window pops up, with ads of digital cameras or something related to Amazon.com and other stuff...

What the hell happened??? My computer was hacked??? Or how do I stop this bs??? Do I have to uninstall something????

It never happened before and I´m sick of it! My parents keep asking if I installed new stuff but I didn´t... they say they didn´t do nothing too... sometimes, the ad window opens even if the browser is closed... like when my dad was working on AutoCad, it kept happening... he´s pissed at me coz of this, but it´s not my fault...

I don´t know what else to do!

HELP ME, PLEASE!!!!!!!

What would happen if you uninstalled the IE browser? And then "reinstalled" it again?

Sometimes that helps?

I thought of that... but sometimes pop ups come for good... and I´m a web designer, so sometimes I create pop ups to my site...

Marcos, this just happened to us last night if you can believe that!!! Our browser would take about a minute to open up and the same with my computer and all that. My husband went and did some research online and he got something called adware that removed 97 hidden lil dealies in our computer and now our puter is really fast again!! here is the site, you download the program free and it removes hidden crap that slows your puter down. We had 97 and my husband is a puter geek and didn'nt even see them!!!! http://www.lavasoft.de/

I figure out what happened: my soundcard was somehow uninstalled...

I can´t find the software or cd to install it again... In fact, I think I don´t even have a cd for it. It came installed...
