Define 'best'.
Best at playing music so complicated it borders on the insane? Best at pulling out an accoustic and strumming a catchy tune that makes people want to sing along? Best at putting together a song with huge riffs that make you want to rock out? Best at building a song towards a mind numbing crescendo? You're pretty vague there, AmberSunset. |

why does there have to be a "best" why cant we just injoy what each guitarist has to offer without having to compare them?

I think it's WAY to hard to pick "THE BEST"...there are SOOO many incredible guitarists'!! But yes, SRV is "ONE" of the best....You could add, Adam Jones, Billy Howerdel, Eric Clapton, Kirk Hammett, Eddie Van Halen, Mark Tremonti, and ohhh sooo many more!! It's too hard to think!!

no offense, but i'm not gonna list tremonti w/ those other guys. he might be really good, but he's not great yet, definitely not on par w/ Clapton and Eddie and most of those other guys.

ok, who said Slash???
that's just not right! sure, Slash is good, but he's not on the same league as SRV, Clapton and Satriani.
