Brett sounds really good! I too am now a fan. It's cool hearing him scream a bit.

I do, however, wish that Clint Lowery didn't have to leave Sevendust... and I wish that Doubledrive was still around.

These guys are playing Monday in NYC, I think...I'm off, and I'm thinking of going. If I do, I'll give y'all a report.

Lol, I heard their song "Brother" a few days ago on a Rock station and thought it was extremely catchy and a good song all-around. I told myself "google these guys when you get the chance, because it could be some real good music." I did not even realize that Brett is the lead singer and that this is his new band! I mean, I completely forgot about it. I haven't heard anymore of their songs, though. Hopefully I will soon enough.

I have to check the web site one more time to see if they're really playing in NYC tomorrow night!

I'm leaning toward going tonight, but if I do, I have to get a** in gear, hehe. If I go and they are selling CDs, I can pick you one up, hide.

Well, I went to the show in NYC and Dark New Day rocked the house! Brett makes a very good front man. Lots of eye contact and well-placed chatter. He sounded great, too. Very strong vocals, as well. I was mightily impressed. I knew he could sing, and hearing him on lead vox confirmed it. He was very animated and moving around as much as he could on that stage. It was a really small club, maybe a couple of hundred people tops. But that made it even more cool because even at the back, you were still close enough to have a fine view. I was about four or five people back. I even recognized some people I had seen at Creed shows before and they were right up front, haha.
They played about 7 or 8 songs from the new CD including Lean, Brother, Pieces (kick-ass!!!), Free and Follow the Sundown (which I loved). They were the second of four bands to take the stage. I left after them because I had to catch a train and all, but it was so worth the trip! All the band members contributed on backing vocals and screaming/growling as well. They did a fair amount of that, but it wasn't gratuitous; it really fit the songs, I thought. Brett looks so different from the Creed days. He looks more bad-ass. He has this tuft of a mohawk and tattoo on the back of his head that is either an angel or some winged animal. All I could think of is how much that HAD to hurt.
I actually think they sound better live than what I've heard of the songs online. I did pick up the album as well.
The first band was called Omnisoul, and they apparently have a song coming out on the Fantastic Four soundtrack. Their music was kind of stock, but the lead singer actually had a decent voice when he wasn't trying to do the *emo* whine thingy, hehehe. I think they had family there as well, because there were a couple of gray-haired guys taking pictures of them while they were playing. The crowd was actually fairly receptive and I think they had a few fans there as well.

Pieces is a great song. Steve, have you had a chance to see them yet?
