Harvest

You reap what ya sow
And so it goes…
Be careful what ‘cha ask for
What appealed in the past
Ne’er seems to last…
When something “new” walks thru the door

“New” can lack manners
In social graces…
Only out for themselves
“Old” might be boring
With outdated values…
Yet, aggression was left on the shelf

“New” is exciting,
Opens your eyes…
It only last’s for a while
When the honeymoon’s over
So’s the commitment…
That seems to be the “new” style

“Old” tho a constant
Can still be exciting…
It can always recreate
Something “new” made of substance,
Full bodied and tasteful…
Appetite sated by a full plate

Seek what is “New”
If you find
You must scatter your seeds…
Reap the fruits of your labor
But remember the past…
Lest your garden be full of weeds
