I agree with what most of you guys are saying, Marshall is an amazing bassist, but he's gone... I think Brett is an amazing performer, he has various talents and brings alot more to the live show. I hope the guys will go ahead and make him a permenant member so we can hear his contribution on the next record, rather than just watch and wonder.

ok guys...i signed up just so i can clear things up for you...

NEVER complain about brett being a bad bassist b/c he NEVER WAS a bassist! he has been the guitarist for ViRGOS for about 10 years now (maybe more) and is used to that and singing as a frontman...so, the only way he got to be where he is now is b/c mark tremonti was a fan of the Devine (an early incarnation of ViRGOS) and they were all friends and stuff...but he was never really used to this, so...i think brett's doing OK for what he is...

I already saw Creed live at the Palace of Auburn Hills last November. I also downloaded some live videos, and, i dunno, it's just not the same as Marshall. Yeah, Mark Tremonti needs to get his foot of the monitor and jump around!

As I recall, Marshal was never one to "move around." I like Hestla at least for the fact that he moves around so much! And that head-banging little jig that he does... gah, I used to hate it but now I love it! I'm not sure about his technical ability compared to Marshal (I don't know how to critique a basist), but I was impressed at least with his solo during What If at Alcatraz.

Tremonti jump around? Nah, that's just not his style. He's more about technique and pure headbangingly good guitar riffs than flashy dancing. He's more of the moody, fuming axeman that endlessly crunches out riffs. I like his more quiet yet explosive style.

I have seen creed live when they had brian and when they have brett and it sounds better (bass wise) with brian but vocally and just stage presents, Brett beats Brian hands down....but Brian was not that kind of person though...Brett is okay as a stand in and some bands do not have a permenate player in the band so its no big deal.

Ehh, not really. Stapp's voice has a sort of moodiness and "grit" that Brett's just doesn't. I mean, a Creed song just wouldn't sound the same without Stapps voice -- like it or not! I like both their voices, though.

Yeah, everybody knows Creed from Stapp's voice, it's so recognizable.

Hestla's my man hands down!! Brian is gone, it's time to move on. I miss him, but he's not coming back.

Hmmm... whatever, everyone is entitled to their opinion, I personally LOVE Stapp's voice, it is one of the reasons I am so attracted to Creed. It is raw and real!

I second what Jen said. Nothing is comparable to Scott's voice. It draws me into every song and I hang on every word.

I love Scott's voice as well. It is so distinct. It was also the first thing I noticed about Creed. But Hestla is still my honey!!
