New iMac :)
woohoo! i just placed my order for one of the new Intel Core Duo based iMac's... this will be my first Mac experience, i've been a windows user ALL my life... I think it's the right change for me, i'm always getting stressed out with this thing crashing and always getting viruses.
Here's the specs... 17-inch widescreen LCD 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo w/ 2MB L2 cache 1GB (single SO-DIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM 160GB Serial ATA HDD Slot-load 8x double-layer SuperDrive ATI Radeon X1600 w/ 128MB GDDR3 memory Built-in AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0 Wired keyboard and Mighty Mouse went with the 17-inch for price and travel purposes... i upgraded the RAM a little... and i choose the Mighty Mouse because i'm very dependent on the scroll wheel hahaha, wireless would have been real nice but no scroll wheel . If there are any Mac users out there i'm very much open to your tips in making the transition ...

Re: New iMac :)
yea, everyone says they're amazing for video editing... but how the heck to you get videos on them in the first place??? no upgrade option for video-in... kinda pissed me off... i bought a Pinnacle Systems movie box ver. 9 like a month ago for my pc, but i don't think it's Mac compatible, which really sucks for me... do you know of any device I could get to do a line-in?

Re: New iMac :)
Ye their kickass for video editing.
To get videos on them you gotta have this dock tape player machine connected to the back of your mac ( thats if ur wanting videos from ur video camera ) A reason why your movie box aint working is maybe cause its only for macs ? Sometimes you can find ones that are compatible with pc's too.

Re: New iMac :)
no the movie box works amazing with my pc, but i don't think it's mac compatible, so i don't think it'll work on my new iMac... and when i get the iMac i'm giving my pc to my sister so i won't have any use for the movie box... i guess i'll be putting it up on ebay if it doesn't work.
and don't think i'm giving my sister a shitty pc lol... it's a dell laptop with a P4 3.20GHz w/ HT, 1.25GB Ram, 60GB hdd... i really didn't need to upgrade but i really want to change my OS.

Re: New iMac :)
Lol ah rite.
Ye best to try the movie box on the imac , if it dont work.. sell it. Best bet is to browse say something like Amazon to look for compatible movie boxes that may run with ur imac.
