true. but the facts still remain that the "revolution" in music occurred and they were the leaders, however unfortunate that may be
point taken. but i wasn't very old at the time all that happened. all i know is i like alot of that stuff better than some of the stuff on the air these days. i don't disagree that those last two bands you mentioned are quite serious... but would you compare the grave seriousness of Creed, etc to them? it's a whole different mentality in music these days. i think it might be coming around, but then you see bands that make you want to Blow Up the Outside World (damn, i'm fucking witty)

you definitely ain't lying
i remember when i first saw the music video for "Away From Me" last year, and I thought: "wait... isn't Kurt Cobain dead? and Nirvana's broken up... this is surreal"

true although i think a correction needed to happen around that point cause there were so many "hair bands" with wanky guitar solos and songs with the depth of pamela anderson. it probably went too far but i don't think there was any agenda from the seattle bands.
i wasen't very old either and i too like a lot of the stuff before it a lot better. i wouldn't have said that even a year ago but bands there really popular just prior to that like judas priest and queensryche and the gunners fell the by the wayside (the gunners imploded though). anyhow this is yet another thread that has gone way of course! lol Well Creed took it further still with Stapp's very spirtual and insular lyrics. lol at your corny joke......

Okay.
Oh well that's a joke. He doesn't think he's a politician, he's the only artist out there that has enough balls to express how he feels about today's society. And if you think that Bono is selfish about AIDS, if you can see bad in the huge heart that the man has, there is something wrong with you. No offence. Lol. It just cracks me up because he looks so much like Kurt, has the Kurt attitude in some ways. 80's rock is the daddy of all rock, nothing beats it. Compared to all of the new age 'rock' bands out there, no talent, no emotion. (In my opinion). Give me old rock anyday.
